I'm nearly 12 weeks pregnant with DC3 and have had morning for the last 7 weeks. Would like to go away for a weekend with DH in November when I'll be 6 months pregnant. I know it's a rubbish time of year but due to various plans it's the only time we can go.
Where would you go? As we only have a weekend (Friday to Sunday) I don't want to fly anywhere. We're in London so I think best options are Paris on the Eurostar or a spa hotel in the south east. Any recommendations?

I'd recommend Bruges. You can get the Eurostar to Brussels & then get a connecting train. It's small enough to walk round comfortably for a day or two without getting bored. The hot chocolate is amazing & they do fab waffles too. You can go on the canal, mooch round the shops, do the horse & carriage ride etc. I went in late October and the temperature was tshirts & jumpers with a thin coat for evenings. I was very tempted to go again for our pre baby break in August but we've picked Vienna instead.

Make sure that you continue to eat healthy meals and snacks and drink lots of water, regardless of how you feel. Since I could not get myself to eat full meals, I just made sure I had between 6 to 8 snacks ( I know that 8 sounds extreme, but usually that snack only consisted of a small celery stick or 2 with peanut butter) throughout the day.

For nausea try drinking no to morning sickness tea or make some juice with ginger (yes, as gross as it sounds it worked for me).

Second vote for Bruges. It's just lovely and the perfect place to relax and potter. Nearby Ghent is worth a visit too, slightly different vibe to Bruges. Both the canal boat and horse carriage rides are lovely. Lots of yummy food (and beer....sorry!). Can be done at a slow pace which is ideal for pregnant women.

Thanks so much! Bruges sounds lovely. I'll look into it. Although I like the idea of somewhere in the Uk too but maybe that's just because now I have no energy and feel so rough just the idea of going away exhausts me!
Thanks for the sickness tips too. I haven't heard of the tea but will look it up.

I went to the Isle of Wight for my baby Moon as I've been really sick and could face venturing too far. Bad idea! Hadn't realised how many bloody hills there are! Not fun to traipse around when sick and pregnant, it's hard work. So try and find somewhere flat!!
