Currently being induced due to pre-eclampsia at 38 weeks and to be honest I don't know a lot about induction. Obviously the midwife has gone through what's going to happen but I'd love to hear some real stories of induction from real people!!

So please share your induction stories with me while I'm sat here waiting for something to happen - short ones, long ones, scary ones, nice ones - I'm not fussed just interested.

I had a bit of a rubbish start to my labour. After having a loop excision (cervix lazered after bad smear) I could not dilate. The scar was to bad and my cervix was fused closed.

After my waters were eventually broken by a doctor (56hours in)... they gave me an epidural and a induction drip.

The drip had to be taken out of me, as the baby started coming out without pushing. It was a very surreal experience.

Not the bog standard induction as I wimped out and asked for an epidural so I could "have a rest".. but drip induction really speeded things up for me x

I was induced at 40+3. Pessary went in at about 2pm. Mild contractions by 6pm.
DP sent home at 10pm to 'get some rest' in case of took hours and hours. I asked to be examined at 11pm as contractions were very strong, at which point I was found to be 4cm.

I called DP to come back at 11.20pm, as the midwife walked me downstairs. Within a couple of minutes of arriving on delivery suite my waters popped during a contraction. DP arrived back at 11.46pm and baby was born at 12.07am!
I think my body went into shock because it all happened so fast. But at least it was over and done with!
Only gas and air- no time for anything else. Only the last few contractions were unbearable.
