When was your baby head down?

Found out today that baby is head down already. Only 30 weeks. Midwife didnt seem concerned but DM said it is way too early for it to be there yet.
When did your baby move to head down and when did you give birth?
Thanks

My dd's head was down earlier than 30 weeks. My midwife was never concerned and i gave birth when i was 38+3 and that was only because i was induced due to not feeling baby move 3 times during pregnancy (my placenta was at the front and dd was always fine).
I definitely dont think you should be worried, especially if your midwife isnt!Smile

I was told not to worry at this stage and that just because they're head down doesn't mean they're engaged. DS was head down at my 28 week 3D scan, by the time i'd seen the midwife around 2 weeks later he'd shifted again!
A good rule is that if the midwife isn't worried you shouldn't be

Sonographer could see baby was head down at 32 weeks. Didn't make any difference, she got twisted in the birth canal and I had an EMCS

My DD was head down from 22 weeks, i had regular scans due to an issue with my cervix, she didn't ever flip from that position. She was engaged from 32 weeks and arrived at 40+5 :)

I'm 31 weeks and I'm head down too, midwife said this was ok.

bambi2908 · 12/07/2017 18:59

Both head down when I had a scan at 24 weeks, was quite surprised!

DrG13 · 12/07/2017 19:45

Head down from 20 week scan and at every midwife appointment and scan thereafter. Born 38+2. You have nothing to worry about - it's totally normal for them to start to get head down early on, but equally normal for them to shift about.

Head down from 12 week scan. Baby just seems comfy that way.

There is a difference between simply being head down, and having the head engaged. I think your DM is thinking that you mean the head is engaged when you probably simply mean it's head down.

Quite normal for a baby to be head down at this stage and even earlier. Think your dm is getting confused with the head being engaged.

dippypanda · 12/07/2017 20:23

Head up at 20 week scan then at my 28 week appt, head was down. Sounds normal to me and midwife wasn't concerned.

justdontevenfuckingstart · 12/07/2017 20:25

Both mine were head down at 28 weeks.

justdontevenfuckingstart · 12/07/2017 20:26

Oh and both born at 40+2

Lemondrop99 · 12/07/2017 23:10

Like dippy, was breach at anomaly scan (mine was 22 weeks) but head down at latest 28 week appointment. Midwife didn't care either way, it only came up as I asked about a change in movements. She said baby could easily shift in and out of that position several times before labour.

Sienna9522 · 13/07/2017 00:38

Head down at 28weeks. She stayed head down from then on and I still went 17 days overdue! I believe it's normal for the head to be down at this stage in a 1st pregnancy.

firsttimemummy9 · 14/07/2017 22:32

Head down since 26/27 weeks.. Midwife wasn't concerned. Now 32 weeks and he is still head down, must be comfy that way! :)

ZigAZigAhh · 15/07/2017 08:09

DS1 was head down for every check/scan I had throughout my whole pregnancy - he was very low and I was convinced he was going to come early. Ended up being induced at 41+5 Hmm

DC2 on the other hand has been happily transverse for the whole pregnancy and at 35 weeks is still showing no signs of wanting to budge...
