Hi, I've been looking at the Motorola MBP36S.. but before I buy I thought I'd check to see if anyone had any recommendations x

Hello, this thread is a little old and the links are out of date. Take a look at this handy page for a round-up of the best baby monitors.

I recommended Angel Care monitors.
I'm using mine for the third time on dc4.
You can get ones that have a video, movement and sound monitoring. Has a handy night light too

I have that Motorola one and it has been ok, good range and clear picture but it has has to be repaired twice. Their after sales service was good though. If you just need an audio one the MBP8 has been reliable and east to use, just plug in and go with a v long range. It's also a fraction of the price of the video one.

We've just bought another Angelcare ac401 today for dc2 as we're still using the first one for dc1.

It's movement and sound but no video. On offer today on Amazon prime day for £49! Worth double that imo

We've bought the same Motorola one and found it excellent after friends recommended it before DS was born. However I didn't know about Angel Monitors so we have one of those two but purchased the non-video one so it didn't duplicate the Motorola.

I would recommend a video monitor but not the one we have which is the BT one. (It doesn't have the scope of field to fit a full cot in the veiw). Video monitor is great to check if they've sat up or are just having a grumble and you don't wake them by having to go in the room.

Oh brilliant - thank you ladies.

We got the angel care one with the sensor pad (no video as we knew we'd just end up watching it all night) - hardly ever used the movement sensor pad bit so if I could go back in time I'd just go for a sound only one.

We have the angelcare with video. It's been brilliant. Having a video is so handy, I can check what DS is actually doing when making a noise rather than having to go in to check. Now he's 2.5 it's used more to check why he's suddenly gone silent! Currently toying with getting another monitor for when next DC arrives.

For me, I'd recommend [[http://www.babymonitor3g.com/?utm_source=mumsnet&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=mumsnet
Baby Monitor 3G]] as it's cheap, you don't need any additional hardware devices, just two smart ones, like a phone or tablet and can see the video of your baby too.
