If you have a boy and girl, how different were your pregnancies?

Due any day with DC2 and didn't find out the sex yet. Lots of people have told me that for them similar pregnancies = same sex. But a few have said they had two identical pregnancies and then one boy and one girl.

So I suppose I'm being nosey really... how different were your pregnancies and did different pregnancy = different sex?

For the record, this time round has been exactly the same as for DS. Will report back in the next week or two Wink

Very similar, except I was slightly more nauseous with my second (girl), and also with the girl I craved sweet foods rather than savoury (boy)...

CryingMessFFS · 11/07/2017 09:21

Had a boy then girl, both pregnancies pretty much the same! Had nausea with both, slightly worse the first time round but not very different at all. Had a few health problems later on with both which weren't as bad the second time as I and the docs as well were ready. So basically the same!

NotAnotherUserName5 · 11/07/2017 09:22

I've 3 girls and 1 boy. The only real difference was I carried bigger with my son than the girls.

He was a whole 2lbs heavier than the girls so made sense I carried bigger!

Do you have any hunch on gender?

badg3r · 11/07/2017 09:37

I feel like it could be a boy again because the pregnancies have been exactly the same. But apparently that doesn't count for much! We didn't find out with DS but I was 100% convinced he was a boy. This time round I'm not so sure, but it has been quite fun not knowing!

Pregnancies and births were very similar except the girl (dc2) was heavier and born faster.

Jasquers · 11/07/2017 09:42

I got stretch marks with my boy and put on more weight. He was only 3lb heavier than my DD when born.
I felt much more sick early on with my DS.

Notreallyarsed · 11/07/2017 09:45

Both boys I was vomiting from 4 weeks until birth morning sickness my arse it was relentless, with DD I felt very sick but didn't actually throw up.

Zebrasinpyjamas · 11/07/2017 09:50

Exactly the same pregnancies with my ds and dd.

PhuntSox · 11/07/2017 10:34

I was less hairy with my DS, more sickness with my DD.

chala86 · 11/07/2017 10:42

Currently pregnant with DS. Had DD almost ten years ago. Pregnancies have been completely different. With DD I felt ill constantly and barely ate, but had no problems sleeping. With DS I don't stop eating but have serious noise sensitivity and can count on one hand the number of decent night's sleeps I've had. Insomnia coupled with a snoring husband have been a nightmare. Can't wait until he gets here.

skinnyamericano · 11/07/2017 10:45

A few minor differences - was bigger all over with DD (but she was a whopper!), more hairy, nails grew more quickly, slightly more nauseous.

I'd had boys before and was convinced she was also a boy, but close friends and 2 midwives guessed she was a girl.

WhispersOfWickedness · 11/07/2017 10:47

Identical, except I was less hairy with DD. It was wonderful, I could go weeks between leg shavings, very handy since it was summer for most of late pregnancy Grin

WhatWouldDarylDixonDo · 11/07/2017 10:49

DC1 very sore boobs from before I even POAS. Tiredness I'd never felt before. Appetite in first trimester was all over the place. One day full after half a sandwich. Others eating for Britain. Very easy 2nd and 3rd trimester.

DC2 I didn't even know I was pregnant for nearly 4 months. No symptoms. Not a thing. Very easy pregnancy again other than growth concerns.

High BP in both pregnancies.

I have one boy one girl

Highmaintenancefemalestuff · 11/07/2017 10:57

My first, a boy, had slight nausea, craved salty things, carried low and all over.
Second, a girl, very bad nausea, heaving, fainting, stopped eating completely and body went into starvation. Towards the end craved chocolate. Carried high and all at the front.

BelfastSmile · 11/07/2017 11:00

Very similar. Slightly more sick and tired second time around (girl), but that was probably more to do with running round after a toddler at the same time!

Hobbitch · 11/07/2017 11:09

I have a boy and am expecting a girl, due in 10 days. This time around I had more sickness and more cravings, I've been utterly ravenous, the heartburn started earlier and I've had bad sciatica. But I've felt less faint. I've been more tired but that's probably due to having a toddler. Overall I think the differences aren't due to gender but rather the fact my body has done it all before.

MummyFoxy · 11/07/2017 11:12

Perfect pregnancy with DS, no morning sickness, super healthy and glowing etc.
Horrible pregnancy with DD, sickness, aching, exhaustion. She arrived 3 weeks ago weighing 10lb7, a whole 2 lb heavier than DS, so not the nicest labour either! Confused

TIALEIGHANNE31 · 11/07/2017 11:12

Heartburn with my girl and carrying much bigger and lower

wesleybear83 · 11/07/2017 11:12

My first child is a boy and I carried very low and he caused problems on my pelvis, he wasn't a massively active baby.
This is my second pregnancy and its a girl and I knew before the scan, I was carrying a lot higher then before. I have had heartburn with both pregnancies but with the girl it was much more worse. This pregnancy the girl she is so much more active and doesn't stay still it drives me mad.

UpsidedownEighteen · 11/07/2017 11:13

Was more queasy, tired and anaemic with my DS than DD. But I was also 36 and three years older than when I'd last been pregnant. So I think age and knackeredness might've played a part in my feeling worse.

OuchBollocks · 11/07/2017 11:15

Exhausted, sick and felt like shit all the time with DD

Kept forgetting I was pregnant because I felt so normal with DS

However my DSis had one super easy pregnancy and one hard one, two boys.

badg3r · 13/07/2017 10:44

Well just to throw my experience into the ring, can now confirm two identical pregnancies, two boys Wink
