I need some advice please lovely MNers. I've (luckily) not had any sickness during my pregnancy and am currently 28weeks. Earlier I had some posh deli cheeses (some Brie and goats cheese) and some charcuterie too and I've just woken up and thrown up. I feel so stupid for eating the cheese and meat as I thought it would be fine but now I'm worrying about the possible effect it may be having on my baby.

I feel okay now and don't feel nauseous anymore and I have felt baby moving since but should I still call my midwife unit?

Any advice is gratefully welcomed. Thanks.

My best guess is that you've eaten some rich food and it has made you sick.

Hope you feel better tomorrow Flowers

Thank you for commenting sparechange. That thought did also cross my mind that maybe I just over did it a bit. Also had a little bit of dark chocolate too which probably didn't help.

I think I've just got myself scared about the possible worst case scenario of listeria but I assume I'd feel unwell still if that was the case.

Listeria is very unlikely in cheese and meat in the U.K. .., and I thought dark chic was good for you?

As im sure you're aware you're not supposed to eat soft cheeses especially ones like brie etc but if you're concerned call the midwife. Also drink cold water and change positions. You might be concentrating too much so missing their movements

I think you've just eaten too much rich food. When I was pregnant I had a couple of incidents of eating loads of cheese and it upsetting my stomach.

Thanks for the further comments everyone.
Normally I've not been too worried about cheese like cheddar/from the supermarket but these were deli ones which I think don't have the same pasteurisation process so are more of a risk.

Anyway luckily I've woken up feeling fine and no more running to the loo in the night so I think perhaps it was just an overload of rich creamy stuff.

Thanks for the comments though. My little guy is still wriggling around this morning so he obviously wasn't worried like I was!
