What helped your nausea?

Ok Ladies all was going great until a week ago. I'm 7 weeks now.
Queue bad all day nausea. It starts from the minute I get up and only lets down just after I've eating. It gets worse if I'm in any way hungry.
I cannot just eat all day long as I'll be the size of a house plus I'm alternating between constipation and diarrhea (sorry TMI).

What has helped you?
Is it bad to take the prescribed medication if you're not actually getting sick. Sometimes I wish I would. This feeling like it could happen anytime is so draining. Plus I'm utterly exhausted.

Please say it goes away soon?

Eating, just divide up what you'd normally eat so you are grazing throughout the day rather than eating larger meals.
Also ice lollies.

Presh12345 · 07/07/2017 10:17

Eating....constantly. And ginger nuts!! A packet a day 🙈 roughly.
Unfortunately mine ended in a MMC. Fingers crossed for next time.

Oysterbabe · 07/07/2017 10:22

I just grazed constantly, dry crackers, cheese and bread. Nothing wet and no meat Envy
It's no wonder I'm fat as fuck. It stopped at 16+2 exactly. All of a sudden I felt fine, ate a steak and wanted to DTD :)

Gothbaby · 07/07/2017 12:26

I had ginger root tablets because I couldn't keep down ginger biscuits! they worked better than the medication I got from the doctor xxx

GMtoBe · 07/07/2017 12:31

Sucking on ice cubes! Also apple juice or any sort of ice lolly.

theotherendofthesockportal · 07/07/2017 12:33

I bought travel sick bands, they helped to a certain extent. Plus having breakfast in bed every morning, I had water and plain biscuits on my bedside table waiting for when I woke up.

It does get better I promise 💐

theotherendofthesockportal · 07/07/2017 12:35

Oh I forgot to add the staple part of my diet for 14 weeks was a Greggs sausage roll every day!

ighinici · 07/07/2017 12:41

for me it was ginger tea and having a dry and tasteless cracker pretty much every hour and a half from the moment i woke up until i went to bed

InDubiousBattle · 07/07/2017 12:45

White bread, white pasta, crisps and full fat, cold coke. My 'morning'(ha bloody ha)sickness began when I was one day late and carried on to 12 weeks when it suddenly just disappeared. On Christmas day! Obviously I was enormous by then but needs must!

Floralnomad · 07/07/2017 12:46

I had hg with both of my pregnancies , so I'd say eat things that you don't mind vomiting back up . In the case of baby 1 that was packs of cheese wotsits , ginger biscuits and jacket potatoes with butter . I also recommend keeping a plastic bag ( or 3 ) and a box of tissues with you at all times just in case and another tip is if you faint , which I also did regularly , make sure that your dozy mother doesn't tip a bottle of lemonade over you to revive you .

ripa81 · 07/07/2017 19:44

Make sure that you continue to eat healthy meals and snacks and drink lots of water, regardless of how you feel. Since I could not get myself to eat full meals, I just made sure I had between 6 to 8 snacks ( I know that 8 sounds extreme, but usually that snack only consisted of a small celery stick or 2 with peanut butter) throughout the day.

I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and I've been nauseous on and off but not actually vomiting
Some days I've only managed to lay on the sofa it's been so bad
Others I've been able to get on with things

Dry cream crackers have been amazing at taking the edge off though
They seem to just settle my stomach and are only 25 calories each so didn't mind nibbling at them all day
I also just ate whatever I fancied at the time, even if it wasn't great nutritionally
So things like crisps either bacon or salt & vinegar, fruit & nut chocolate, pasta with tomato sauce, beans on toast, cheese on toast
I then ate bland healthy food in between feeling bad like smoothies, chicken & veg etc (no seafood though as I've completely gone off it and used to love it?!?!!)

Eating smaller portions and staying away from very fatty foods helped mostly too

I haven't put on much weight as of yet (0.5kg)

Thought I was coming out the other end but feel rubbish today!
Hoping that I can start eating more balanced soon

Fingers crossed you get some relief

Jellybabie3 · 07/07/2017 22:56

Yup to eating. Plain salty stuff for me mainly like crisps. Was ok with biscuits bread pasta. Anything without tonnes of flavour. When at work and trying to hide it i found lollies helped as i could suck on them slowly to reduce the sicky metallic taste in mouth. I had real issues with over active saliva too though

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 08/07/2017 00:10

R Whites Lemonade Ice Lollies
Nectarines
Watermelon
Salt & Vinegar crisps
Flat soft drinks
Boiled sweets
Plain digestive biscuits

EmilyK83 · 08/07/2017 07:43

I'm 8 weeks with my first and definitely finding that the nausea is worse when my stomach's empty! Dry crackers, pickles, skinny decaf lattes and plain rice seem to help, and keeping well hydrated too. But then sometimes all I want is cheap carbs and I demolish a couple of white rolls, which I've not eaten in ages before now!

GinIsIn · 08/07/2017 07:48

Fizzy cola bottles, salt and vinegar squares, sparkling water.

Meals-wise, I could manage mash and gravy or macaroni cheese. That was it. For 9 months. I gained about 6 stone but never actually puked....

tootsieglitterballs · 08/07/2017 08:09

Eating exactly what my body told me it wanted.. last pregnancy it was fresh fruit, ice cold water and a tonne of bananas. This pregnancy it's been cabs - all the bad ones!

QuestionARhino · 08/07/2017 08:11

I had daily nausea and vomiting and found crackers and ginger biscuits of no use but sour things really worked for me. So I ate fresh grapefruit and tangy oranges and if I was really suffering then I bought some Preggie Pop Drops off Amazon and they were a sure fix! Seems pricey for the quantity but I used less than 1.5 tubs for about 8ish weeks of daily sickness so I didn't mind so much.

What helped your nausea?
silkpyjamasallday · 08/07/2017 08:47

I had HG so was vomiting 10+ times a day for the entire pregnancy but I didn't want to take the medication. I found having little high protein snacks were best for settling my nausea, party sausages, baby bells and plain chicken breast pieces were all good, just eat one at a time when you feel the nausea coming on. Carry a water bottle around with you to sip constantly, you can put pieces of chopped up fruit in it to make it a bit more interesting without the chemicals in shop bought flavoured water.

MadeForThis · 08/07/2017 09:06

Don't let yourself get hungry. Drink lots of water. If you are lucky it will fade by 12/14 weeks so just eat whatever you can. Plenty of time to worry about weight later.
Carbs helped loads. I usually had 2 breakfasts. Loved toast and cheesy bagels. Lots of cheese too. Shortbread. Ice Lollys. Apples. Crisps. Pasta. Rice.

Just eat whatever you need. The sickness is horrible but usually does go away.

tailspin · 08/07/2017 09:17

I find fresh air and rest makes a massive difference. My office doesn't have any windows that open (just "air circulation") and I feel 10x more awful there to the point that I just want to quit. Car is bad too.

AprilShowers16 · 08/07/2017 09:25

Eating! Make sure you always have a snack with you.

issy2165 · 08/07/2017 09:50

Following this I'm now 6 weeks and I'm just waiting for it all to start 😩 I'm going to try taking vit b6 3 times a day and get a sea band and see if that works!
