Evening everyone

I'm 28 weeks today with my first baby, and I literally have nothing ready yet. I feel so completely unprepared and now I'm worrying that I'll forget something important.

I don't even know where to begin Sad

I keep telling myself that I'll start sorting after the wedding (11 days time, eek.) Shock

All you really need is somewhere for baby to sleep and some clothes (DS lives in sleepsuits!). And nappies. Honestly everything else will come as you go along

You'll get there, I'm only now half sorted and I'm 38weeks tomorrow! I've only just thought about packing my hospital bag!

If you want to, you could have a leaf through the pregnancy magazines at the supermarket and find one with a checklist in.
Read it (and the rest of the magazine if you must!) with a large pinch of salt in hand, though - you won't necessarily need half of what they say, but it will give you a starting point.

How do you hope to feed? Working that out would be quite helpful to get you started.

I was hoping to breastfeed

Don't worry.
You can get the basics very easily and quickly most places. You can order online of course too.

All you really need is:

Clothes - not fancy outfits all they need are a decent supply of newborn vests, bodies and sleep suits as well as little cardigans and a hat for outside . Pram suit all in one if it's freezing.
Pram blankets and cot blankets or sleeping bag suitable for newborn and fitted sheets.
Somewhere for your baby to sleep that meets safe sleeping standards
Nappies and cleaning products / wipes / cotton wool / something to bath baby in.
Muslin clothes / bibs
Feeding equipment if you're not planning to breastfeed

Car seat for bringing them home from hospital if it's via your car.

Lots of help on here with advice about car seats and prams. You could look into trying slings at a local sling library too don't have to rush.

Personally I think Moses baskets are a waste of time. I always have a decent bouncer suitable for newborns with reclining function otherwise they're in their crib / cot.

It's very easy and tempting to go completely overboard but really there is no need. They shouldn't have toys in the cot, they don't need posh clothes there is no point.

All they really need is the basics, love, food , sleep and cuddles.

With my last two I was still washing and packing hospital bags etc at 36 weeks. Will be this time.
You will be fine!

Thank you all so much Smile
