Bloody show?

Hi.

I'm 39+3 and had a false alarm yesterday. Went to the hospital and then midwife tried to give me a sweep. She said cervix was 1cm dilated but still quite high up (second baby). It wasn't "successful" but did say it might move things on still.

Today I've been losing plug (and have been for a few weeks) but today it went from snotty to clear.

Whilst out (about 18 hours later) I've had, what I assume, is my bloody show. Mucus tinged with brown blood. Not massive but definitely there.

If this was because of the attempted sweep would i have had clear discharge prior? Or is this nothing to pay attention to?

Second baby btw. Never lost any plug or had a show with my first.

A sweep can cause a bit if bleeding or plug loss :)

But unfortunately you can (as you know) have even a bloody show a fair while before labour kicks off. I hope it's soon for you?

Have you tried nipple stimulation? Aparrently it can help if your body and baby are ready for labour!

I wasn't sure if it was from the sweep because she couldn't really reach it and because I've had clear plug since.

I've not tried nipple stimulation yet. Not really sure how to go about it? Is it just literally sitting there twiddling your nips lol?

Hehe Grin

According to the studies where it proved effective you do have to do it for quite a long period of time - like 15 minutes every 2 hours for a while? And you don't have to just focus on nippers you literally just grab your boobs and er, "stimulate" them - it's supposed to mimic your new baby suckling I believe :)
