When did you take mat leave?

I'm 31+3 and was planning on going right up until 38. However I've woken up this morning and just feel like I can't face much more time in work. I'm walking (about 30-40 mins each way) and on days it's raining I have to taxi it in which is wasting all my money and just seems a waste.
Is it ridiculously too early to be triggering my mat leave? Will I really regret not having the extra weeks with baby at the end?

Officially I went at 38 weeks, but I had 2 weeks holiday before so technically 36 weeks. My god it was the right decision. I got a month of being lazy and it was also when we had the heat wave last summer so it came at exactly the right time. I drive to work, and my job involves sitting down, but couldn't have lasted much longer

Hi OP. I am triggering mine on 18th Sept. Hes due on the 23rd, but i have four weeks leave to use so am going at 35. I am currently almost 28 weeks and very tired, not helped by low blood pressure and pain in the hips keeping me awake at night. I am concerned about making it for another 7 weeks. I think you need to listen to your body

Work actually went much smoother than I thought today - the lift there abs back made the world of difference!
So plan is - get lift when I can, provisionally go till end of July (36 weeks pregnant) and then if by the miracle of God I can muster up the energy to squeeze through another two weeks I will. But even provisionally saying end of July has felt like a weight lifted off my shoulders.
Thanks for all the input and congratulations to everyone on their pregnancies and births Flowers

Glad you've got a plan! I'm officially going on mat leave 1 week before, but I have 6 weeks of annual leave I have to take for this year so I anchor going off at 33 weeks!! Imagine if baby is overdue :/ could be off work 2 months with no baby! Planning to move shortly before finishing though so I have 7 weeks to get the house in order which I think will be slow going so probably won't be bored!!

My initial plan was to finish at 37+2 (just because that is a full week). I'm 33wks tomorrow and so done with work!! I have decided to use another 5 days of leave but to take Wednesdays off until I finish on my original date. That way I only have two days of work to contend with at a time. First week doing that this week and I am SO ready for tomorrow off to rest and sleep

I'm finishing tomorrow at 28+6 due to redundancy and I can't wait to stop! Second pregnancy and I'm more tired with a toddler already at home. I could maybe have found something temp to take me further to due date but the thought of the London commute plus full days at work then toddler bath and bedtime is exhausting. Instead I'm lucky to be getting a couple of months with my boy before the next one comes.
