Danger to baby from using a sleepyhead in a snuz pod?

Hi all. Just back from John Lewis getting a few last bits before our first is due in a few weeks. I got chatting to the sales lady who said they would never advise using a sleepyhead mattress inside a snuzpod bedside crib. She said she'd been told this during a training event run by sleepyhead - apparently it's because they say not enough air would circulate around the baby with both in use together. Has anyone else heard this? I was planning on using the sleepyhead in the snuzpod with one side down (attached to our bed) but now I'm not so sure! Any thoughts? Thanks in advance

Not sure why you would put a sleepyhead in a snuzpod. My understanding is a sleepyhead is not a mattress but rather a stand-alone item (someone correct me if I'm wrong!).

I would advise using the snuzpod mattress and following safe sleeping guidelines - if you're not sure, speak to your midwife. My little one sleeps fine with a normal mattress and a blanket in the snuzpod.

We have ours in a Snuzpod but have taken the Snuzpod mattress out so the Sleepyhead is just on the slats.

We used ours in the snuzpod. All sleepyhead say is that is should be placed on a firm surface, which a snuzpod mattress is. The side of the snuzpod is mesh anyway so can't see how it's any different to having it on the floor/in your bed/in a cot.

I want to know the answer to this too, I had read on another forum that someone in John Lewis was told by the staff that it was not advised to use a sleepyhead in a bedside crib, but on the FAQ section on the sleepyhead website it says you can use the sleepyhead in a crib or bassinet - so I'm really confused about what the difference is?

I'm sure if it was unsafe then sleepyheads of Sweden wouldn't promote the two together. Both are breathable xx

Just remember that the guidelines is that baby nests, like Sleepyheads, are not recommended for babies to sleep in unsupervised.

Thanks all. I had also thought from the sleepyhead guidelines that it would be ok to use in the snuzpod but just wanted to check what others had been told. I have a midwife appointment next week so will ask her advice then too. Taking the snuzpod mattress out might be a good compromise.
