Echocardiogram during pregnancy?

Has anyone had to undergo an echocardiogram whilst pregnant? I'm 27 weeks (with 2nd) and was in hospital last week for reduced movement, but whilst there, they carried on further tests on myself due to shortness of breath, dizziness and palpitations, I had an ECG which showed possible left atrial enlargement and now I'm booked for an echo scan this afternoon. Is this anything I should be worried about or fairly normal in pregnancy?

They aren't anything to worry about in the terms of any impact on baby, its basically like an ultrasound on the heart and they watch it beat and take pictures etc.

Had one at 12 weeks pregnant as I had radiotherapy 3 years ago for breast cancer and as pregnancy puts extra strain on your heart they like to check.

I imagine the same thing - they are being extra careful as the extra blood in your body puts extra stress on your heart and by looking at it they can see how your heart is doing under this stress.

You lie on your side with your back to the person doing it and they sit next to you in a dark room with the scanner thingy and scan kind of over your shoulder. Its a bit of a weird position, but normally 10-15 minutes worth I think.

Good luck - I'm sure its just precautionary!!!
