Rhythmic sustained movements; not hiccups, so what is it?!

Pretty much as it says in the title!

34+2 with my first, and most evenings when I lie down in bed, for anything between 10-15 minutes baby moves every 2 seconds in a little jumpy/knocking movement.

It's not hiccups as that feels different, and I saw my midwife today and mentioned it to her and she said it's probably baby sucking her thumb, but why would that cause such regular moments every 2 seconds? Hmm

Baby is otherwise healthy and has plenty of movement, but I'm curious whether anyone else has experienced anything similar?

Xx

I get this on my right hand side, the consultant said it was something to do with the blood flow to the placenta (forgive me for the vagueness)

Thanks for your reply!

It's always on my left hand side; she's head down and I don't know where my placenta is but that's an interesting possibility! She was doing it again this afternoon at work (coupled with some rather hefty kicking!), so god knows what she's up to...! Xx
