baby takes what it needs ,so eat a normal amount, only need to increase calorie intake in the last trimester, by about 300 cals a day....

don;t restrict / overeat, to try to dictate the size of baby, just eat normally !!

The baby takes what it needs from you. What you eat has little to do with the size of the baby especially at birth. Of couse overeating can lead to rapid weight gain on the mother's part and in turn lead to problems such as gestational diabetes which does lead to big babies. You are only 20 weeks so regardless of what scans are showing now, it's not yet an indicator for how big it will be at birth. The baby could pick up pace in it's growth before the birth or continue like it is and just be smaller than your other babies. Just eat as you have been, don't change your diet b/c of anything to do with the size of the baby at this stage or any other stage. You only need to add 300 calories towards the end of the second trimester and in the third but that goes for most women and it's not b/c of what scans are showing as the size of the baby. Keep in mind that scans aren't an exact measurement, even later in pregnancy. It's a rough estimate. As long as you are eating healthily and taking your prenatal vitamins the baby be get everything it needs from you. There's nothing to worry about.

I agree, and also would like to add that those scans are sometimes very wrong. I was told my DS was big, with a big head. He was born 6 lbs 2 oz...

I would just eat healthily and normally, baby will take what s/he needs from you. Best of luck with the preg!
