OK, in the big minefield that is buying a pram/pushchair - why have 3 or 4 wheels?

Does it matter?

Why would I get one over the other?

First baby due later this year

The Phil and Ted's is sold to be from newborn to toddler - there's a carrycot/cocoon that pops into it when in lie-flat position. My DS was not that small when we got it but slept many happy hours on a folded blanket on the lie-flat bit.

It's very well built, has survived a year of sustained bashing. I like the stripped down steel-frame-and canvas construction, there is virtually no plastic at all. Glad to report mine is fashionably muddy too!

If we had another DC I would not feel the need to get a travel system.

Ds is 3.3 and I have had the same pushchair from birth, only had to have a new one now as expecting twins and needed a twin one.

Used the Jane Powertrack with matrix and bought a 3 wheeler as it fits in with our lifestyle, lots of off road, up mountains as well as around town. Have an MPV so no problem in the car, have also taken it on 8 flights with no probs at all.

Twin pushchair a different story as a lot less choice and we have bought the out and about nipper with newborn support and cosytoes hoping that it will cover the same aspects that we need. Can't pass an opinion yet as twins not here until next week

I love my phil and teds. I haven't yet found an issue with it. Millie was 7lbs 1 oz when born, and now only weighs 19lb 4 at 15 months, and she always looks so comfy in it.

I agree the cocoon is fab, although very long, so we put a rolled up blanket at the bottom so that she didn't slip down too far.
