I had an enormous bleed at what I thought was 7 weeks, bright red blood and lots of it. Scan showed baby was actually 11 weeks and wriggling around fine in there. In actual fact, the 'period' I'd had 7 weeks earlier was probably the start of the bleeding, so actually around the same time as you.
I'm 21 weeks now and still bleeding unfortunately. No pain, but regular, having-to-wear-a-pad-every-day type bleeding. I'll get a day or two where it slows to the brownish blood you describe, followed then by a gush of red blood that's absolutely terrifying.
Scan has showed a sub chorionic haematoma in the uterus (i.e. not in the amniotic sac), which is apparently fairly common, and is what's causing the bleed.
Midwives/docs aren't saying that it's normal, but are reassuring me that as long as I'm not in pain, it's as fine as it can be. I'm having more regular scans than usual to check that the haematoma isn't impacting baby's growth by restricting blood or nutrient flow in any way. So far, baby is absolutely fine and is growing normally. I have a good way to go yet, but I've been reassured that this doesn't make the pregnancy much higher risk than normal, and that every week I progress further, the higher the chances are that all will be well.
This is baby #4 after three perfectly textbook, trouble free pregnancies so this was a complete shock - as it would be to anyone, but you know what I mean! I can keep you posted as to how I'm getting on, but try to think positively, as it doesn't necessarily mean the end of the pregnancy at all.
I was away on holiday when I had my first big bleed and posted on here asking for advice. Lots of lovely women came back, reassuring me that they'd experienced similar but that all had ended well.
I'm sorry you're going through this, and I won't say try not to worry as that's impossible, but all could still be well. Sending
