I'm 28 weeks pregnant and although I've had pressure in my feet before I am currently sitting on the side of the bath soaking them in cold water as they are quite a bit bigger than they should be.

Is this normal towards 30 weeks I know they are signs of more serious stuff but I'm in no pain no headache and baby is still kicking like a good'un!

Please help xx

Could just be the heat but I would give you midwife a ring to check and get her thoughts.

I've had swollen feet to varying degrees since about 32 weeks and now 37 weeks

BP etc fine

Worse when it's been hot, if i haven't walked much or too much (so that's a bit hard to balance and get right) and if I don't get my feet up

Do check with midwife but sadly it's sometimes just part of the glamour of pregnancy.

It must be getting to my hands now too as my wedding ring is uncomfortable a lot of the time

I have this quite bad & it gets painful too, I suffered early on in my last pregnancy and same again with this one, I'm 26 weeks and it started around 22 weeks. Hot or muggy weather makes it worse, I need to elevate my feet to hip level or above heart level where possible on an evening to ease it plus drink lots of water. Speak to your midwife if you're concerned though.

oh yeah, forgot to say, not drinking enough, counterintuitively, does not help

But then when I rang triage about reduced movements, I was told I needed to be on 3l+ of water etc per day (bean perked right up after 1.5 pts of water and fine thereafter)

My feet ang legs were massive with first baby. Have you tried compression socks?

Definitely check with your midwife to be on the safe side but it may well just be normal pregnancy water retention.

I'm 36 weeks with twins and for the past week or so my feet and even my legs swell up hugely if I'm upright for any length of time - it's crazy! My BP is normal etc so nothing 'wrong'.

The only thing that fixes it is going to lie down on the bed for a bit with my feet raised high on a few pillows (trying to raise them above the level of my heart which is also a challenge as can't lie on my back of course!) and wiggle feet forward and back / side to side. They return to normal after an hour or so... (only wiggle my feet for the first 10 mins to get things flowing).

Thank you!

Thinking now I'm sure I don't drink enough water and I do a huge amount of walking in this weather can't be helpful.

I did tell my midwife and she checked a few thing BP being one of them and said it's just a side effect of pregnancy, JOY!!

Better a side effect of pregnancy than pre eclampsia.
