Placenta insufficiency

Hi everyone I just want some advice on this area.
Two weeks ago I was identified as having severe placental insufficiency at 25 weeks. My baby weighed on 410g when it should have been around 800g. On Friday (9/6/17) I began to bleed and was admitted to hospital. Sadly, the baby didn't survive and I delivered a beautiful sleeping baby on 10/6/17 due to placenta abrupt ion.
I wanted to know if anyone else had encountered this and went on to have healthy children.
People are saying 'when' you get pregnant again it will be different and although I have no thoughts on pregnancy at the moment I am ansolutely terrified this will happen again and I don't think I can go through this heartache again.

Oh siobhand, I don't have exact experience of what you've been through but I couldn't read and run. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.

Very different for me, but I had my ds at 27 weeks due to a blood clot on my placenta which was discovered at 21 weeks and lead to an abrupt ion which caused me to go into spontaneous labour. They never found out what caused the clot, despite lots of testing. I'm pregnant again and classed as high risk, so I have lots of scans and consultant apts. I'm in the hospital pretty much every week for one type of testing or monitoring or other. I'm currently 24 weeks and fortunately no signs of any clot forming or any issues with the placenta, but have still be signed off work as a precaution and told to rest. The consultant seems cautiously optimistic that it "was just one of those things" and will not be repeated.

I've spent the entire pregnancy scared stiff though. Hopefully, when you feel ready to fall pregnant again you will receive lots of support and monitoring.

Thank you for order your quick reply. Yes my labour led to placenta abruption and that is the cause of death on the certificate.
I know I would be monitored more but I don't think I would be reassured. Hopefully have some answers back when the post mortem comes back plus doctors want a follow up appointment. I just want statistics of it happening again to have a better piece of mind.

Congratulations on your pregnancy and I hope it all goes well xxx

I'm so very sorry for your devastating loss. It's utterly terrifying. I lost my son at 39 weeks last year due to a blood issue but placenta related.

The SANDS forums are really helpful and sadly have lots of ladies in similar situations.

For now be kind to yourself Flowers
