Abdominal aches in third trimester

So to most mums this is probably going to be a stupid question, but i have to ask. I'm in my 26th week and nearing the home stretch, but all of a sudden the last couple weeks i have really started to slow down! My tummy feels a lot heavier and the tiniest bit of walking/moving is really arduous. I've got PGP which makes it hard anyway, but this tummy thing is worse i think. Has anybody gone through a similar thing as you aporoached the third trimester, is it a standard thing? Throughout the day my sides are tightening up, and tensing hard (BH or baby moving i suppose), and the feeling near my lower abdomen mainly is sort of hard to describe, it's not quite crampy, but tense and sharp, a bit like it's knotted inside and the knots are being pulled tighter, and it's worse when i stand or move. Even if i'm in a car and it's a bit bumpy i really have to hold on to my belly so it doesn't hurt when i sway side to side. What is that due to, just the weight of baby getting bigger, or am i not doing something right? I'd love to know if there's anything i can do to relieve it a bit, i'm worried about spending the next three months laid up on the sofa :s

Could be your bowels playing up or wind. Sounds right on. I'm 37 weeks now and having a lot more frequent pains and aches more than in my first pregnancy too. Back Is killing too. Try to stay active but not too active, daily walks etc. It will encourage baby into a good comfortable position. I was too stationary with my first and had a very difficult birth at 42 weeks.

That's really helpful advice thank you, come to think of it i am feeling a pressure in my bladder and bottom, and going quite a lot more. You know if the aches and pains are pre term labour, is it obvious when it becomes something you should worry about?

There are bump support bands, might be worth looking at?

If you are concerned ring your midwife

Yeah I've been having that pressure feeling for a while now. I've been trying to get as much fibre as possible - beetroot smoothies etc. It still hurts every time I go but I feel much better afterwards! Have you got a gym ball? I found that helps a lot with pressure. Also I know this sounds weird but where I can I've been peeing upright and it really empties the bladder compared to sitting!

As for pre term labour look out for waters breaking, any red blood, any abnormal discharge etc.

Gym ball sounds a great idea, i should get one. I do make sure i'm getting a lot of fibre to avoid constapiation, but more won't hurt i guess. Peeing upright sounds like a proper mission though! Thx for all the advice :)
