Hi guys, I'm 9 weeks pregnant and I have been referred to an obstetrician as I had a LLETZ procedure last year. The midwife mentioned something about a stitch?!! Anyone been through this?

I'd had 2 lletz procedures in the past so I was also worried about this. You'll have an internal scan to check the length of your cervix. My one was absolutely fine so that's where it ended, but from what I understand they will consider a stitch if needed. I read a bit about it at the time and it didn't seem like anything to worry about. Hope yours is ok though Smile

Im getting a stitch at 20 weeks after lletz procedure had near enough all of my cervix removed lol I've heard it's not sure just a bit uncomfortable lol only thing I'm not sure about is sex ? Xx

Don't worry they should give you regular scans to make sure your cervix is strong enough to keep baby in safely & if it's looking like it needs some help, they put a stitch in. I had this and didn't need the stitch but better safe than sorry x

If you have a stitch, does it mean c section?

I had to have some additional checks after two LLETZ procedures - luckily all was fine. If a lot of cervix was removed then there is a risk it won't cope with pregnancy and you're at risk of a premature birth. If you have a stitch you may also be put on bed rest. The stitch will be cut later in pregnancy to enable a natural birth.
