My baby might have to be induced at 28 weeks because he's not growing has anyone else been through this??

No, I had ds at 32 weeks though ,it's a scary time. Are you 28 weeks now?

MissBax · 07/06/2017 15:56

Not been through it OP, but wanting to offer support Flowers
Just out of interest - how did they know baby wasn't growing? I'm 28+4 now and haven't put on weight for ages and worry my bump isn't growing but haven't been weighed since booking appt, or measured!

I haven't hun but you must be very scared.
A friend in work had her DD at 28 weeks and has just turned 1. Another couple who own a bar we go to in Greece had their little girl 3 months early last year and she's also home doing fine.

Try not to panic, they'll be doing what's best for both of you. Xxx

I'm 25 weeks now they said my baby isn't growing and my placenta is small so they said we're going to induce you at 28 weeks

I had my little boy at 27 weeks. I knew from 24 weeks he was going to come early and it was a very stressful time. The only thing that helped me was focussing on anything practical I could do as I felt so out of control. I packed my hospital bag (bare in mind you'll probably stay in a few days so extra clothes, toiletries etc) and I asked for a tour of the NICU - the machines are so scary when you first see them and it helped me to have a vague idea. Charities such as Bliss can offer lots of invaluable help and support.

Are you having steroids to boost baby's lungs? That certainly helped my ds.

I can't lie, it was one of the most stressful and scary times of my life, but my ds is now a healthy 4 year old who is as bright as a button and due to start school in Sept. There's lots of support out there and if you need to chat or ask any questions, please feel free to PM me.

I'm going tomorrow to the placenta clinic so I'll ask about the steroid injection then but I'm so scared 🙈

Good luck today. I really hope baby manages to hold on in there for a few more weeks.

I was told at 21 weeks that baby was unlikely to survive, at 24 weeks they said I might make it to 28 weeks but baby was likely to have significant development issues. I was terrified. To look at him now you'd have no idea (other than him being slightly shorter than his peers). These babies of ours are resilient little things - stay positive and post if you need any advice.

Good luck and thinking of you

There giving me to 28 weeks so I'm going back then they said my baby's heads developed but not the body he's just so small he only weights 305g at 25 weeks and he needs to be at least 400g
