Giving birth hurts!!!!

Went to have my whooping cough injection yesterday. I'm not very confident with needles. Nurse seemed OK at first chatting about bump and then she suddenly stabbed the needle in my arm. Nothing to numb it or steralize it with. No warning.Took me a bit by surprise so I moaned in a bit of pain. It bloody hurt.

Her comment was that I needed to get over it as child birth hurts a lot more than a little needle

I bloody know it will hurt, as if I'm not terrified enough, I don't need the comments to go with it.
Just wanted to rant and ask what comments people make that annoy you?

Also the sleep one.

I'm tired today.

I know what you mean, my arm was bruised for over a week after my whooping cough injection!

She should have wiped with antiseptic wipe. Given you the injection and applied pressure straight afterwards to avoid bruising.

Needles are horrid! I had a completely natural birth with both of mine with no pain relief but then needed gas and air for being stitched up! I'd much rather give birth than go to the dentist!! Good Luck!

Ilovewillow I am completely with you on that. I gave birth to a 9Ib 8 oz baby with no pain relief, and it was the stitches afterwards that bothered me the most.

Labour is obviously much more painful than an injection, but it is a totally different sort of pain. Also, injections and stitches don't result in the most beautiful and amazing thing you have ever seen ion your life either.
