Maternity or Nursing bra?!

I have just over 9 weeks to go and am in desperate need of some comfy new bras! Like most ladies, my boobs have grown so none of my normal bras fit and have managed for the last couple of months to go between some non-wired bras. However, they are too small now so I need to get more.
I don't know whether to get maternity or buy a couple of nursing bras and then at least I will continue with wear of these when baby arrives (if I can breast feed). Has/is anyone else in this predicament? My concern is cost as for larger sizes they are so expensive (comfiest tried on have been Bravissimo but over £30 for just one!) but I am also concerned about size changes when baby arrives (mainly them getting even bigger!) and only having a few weeks wear. This is my first so don't know what to expect?

Thank you! Smile

I'd recommend going to somewhere like Asda or primark and picking up a couple of cheap non wired t shirt bras for now instead of forking out for nursing/maternity bras.

I'm 34 weeks and there's no way my boobs would fit in the size I'd gone up to at 9/10 weeks. I've now picked up a couple of m and s nursing crop tops ready for first few weeks after birth until an able to go and get properly measured- Am g aware that that even at 34 weeks boobs are still not at peak size, so would be false economy to buy proper nursing ones at £30 a pop even now!

Asda are particularly good on the cheap non wired- will send a link.

Just realised you are 9 weeks to go- not 9 weeks preg! I'd still grab two of the Asda £6 for now, get the nursing crop tops that are multi size for first few weeks after birth, then go into town and get property measured once you are able after birth!

I got these from marks and spencer, after they were recommended when I asked a similar question a few weeks back! They are nursing bras and come in small, medium, large sizes so are a great great for fluctuating boob sizes pre and post birth! They are soooo comfy I've been really happy with them. I've been wearing them since about 36 weeks (now 39 weeks). They feel supportive and have a good shape. And there are two in the pack so good value I think (£32), especially as I can see I'll be wearing them for a while if I breastfeed. I'm currently a 38FF and the large fits comfortably.

You might want to get nursing bras in your normal back size (though with bigger cups) and use a bra extender (John Lewis do them) if your ribcage has expanded - my ribcage got at least a size bigger during pregnancy, then went back to normal almost immediately afterwards. If I'd bought bras to fit then, I wouldn't have worn them for long.

You may find that your breasts get even bigger when nursing - mine did, and I couldn't use the nursing bras I'd got while pregnant. I was so big (G cup) that bravissimo was my only option. It meant (thankfully slightly cheaper) bras I'd got while pregnant weren't much use...

The crop top multi size bras Lucinda mentions from M and S are the ones I got! Great for that in between period before boobs settle. Do be aware they are quite high and less structured than a t shirt bra so they don't go under all tops- but will be fab for straight after birth until boobs settled and have chance to go get properly measured!
