37w pregnant with my second child. I have SPD but since last night I have been in a lot of pain in my coxis, sharp pain in the bottom of my stomach when I stand and feel like my insides will fall out when I walk. Had to take codeine last night but was up in the night in pain. Currently still in bed 😐 Stomach muscles have been seperated since 15 weeks but have been coping really well. Assumed this was just SPD related but tmi I am quite wet. It's not pee! Odourless, colourless except for a tiny amount of white discharge. I've never gone in to labour or laboured so no idea what this is. No stomach cramps though. Suggestions? Ta

I would ring your midwife/maternity unit and tell them you think your waters might have broken, see what they say. Good luck!

Get yourself checked out. My waters went, gradual leak so I leaked a tiny bit each time I moved, but nothing else. It was fairly unmistakable to me though, I could feel it happening. Not one contraction though. Ended up being induced two days later as infection risk goes up after that.

Short answer is you can't know for sure.

Mine leaked, slowly, at 27 weeks with my daughter. Only picked up due to low fundal height and subsequent scan.

I had been leaking a little, but assumed (wrongly) it was pee.

The midwife may want to examine you and/or scan.

It could be your hind waters. I would put a pad on and ring your midwife/ maternity unit. They'll probably ask you to monitor it and might want to examine you. Amniotic fluid smells a little sweet.

Jennie1978 · 03/06/2017 12:45

Also you're more likely to leak when lying down as the baby acts like a bung when you're standing.

BabyLedWhining · 03/06/2017 12:55

Call your midwife and put On a new pad. Also smell your knickers and see if you've wee'd yourself.

Happens sometimes... I've heard. Blush

BabyLedWhining · 03/06/2017 12:56

Oh sorry you already did his!

WellieWanger · 03/06/2017 15:59

Thanks for all your advice. Tried a little walk which lead to more pain and still leaking and even being passenger in the car is painful-every bump or turn i think he is going to fall out of me.But I have rang triage who have told me that baby is just moving into position so there's nothing can be done 😐

Definitely sounds like baby is engaging. I've had similar pains since 38 weeks and I'm coming upto 42 weeks now. It comes and goes so fingers crossed it eases for you. You should be checked out for leaking though incase

BabyLedWhining · 03/06/2017 16:05

How long have you been leaking? When it happened to me I was told that it couldn't go on for more than 24 hours (I think) because of infection risk?

WellieWanger · 03/06/2017 16:09

Pain since last night and leaking since this morning. I never had this with my first but they were breech so would never have engaged I guess. I also have GD but I forgot to mention that to triage. Probably should have done. I mean, it's all great and the outcome is wonderful but no more of this pregnancy malarkey for me. Too much worry.x

Mine went this morning. At first I wasn't sure but it keeps gushing and gushing. So glam. Went to the hospital earlier who confirmed.

WellieWanger · 03/06/2017 16:23

Best of luck Mummyh!

Wellie, is it worth ringing backand speaking to someone else to mention the gd in case it's relevant?

EdgarAllenPoe · 03/06/2017 16:34

I'd ring back and tell them you're unsure if waters have gone. Ideally they'll want labour to start within 24 hours of this due to the risk of infection. That being said they made me wait 2 days before inducing me because none of my local hospitals had any labour rooms! Good luck!

BabyLedWhining · 03/06/2017 17:16

There are only a few times in life when you're really entitled to make as much as a nuisance of yourself with no guilt whatsoever and labour is one of them Grin
