When to go to the drs

I'm 4 weeks pg today found out at 10 dpo. I'm just wondering when do I go to the gp for confirmation?

At my GP surgery the advice is to book an appointment as soon as you have a positive test. Congratulations!

Call your surgery.. at ours you don't even see the gp, you just book in with midwife :)

You don't actually get 'confirmation' at the GP as their tests are no more reliable than a standard POAS. Sometimes they will do a blood test if there's a medical need but most of the time they just take your word for it. They will refer you to your local midwife team who will then contact you for a booking in appointment before ten weeks, IIRC.

Going to the GP about being pregnant is always a bit uneventful! Congratulations 😊

That's good just thought 4 weeks was a bit early as I haven't technically missed a period. I'm due on today x

Congratulations. I called my doctor as soon as I found out and asked the receptionist what to do. They didn't make an appointment for me - instead they asked me to pop in and pick up a pregnancy pack with the number of my midwife so I could make an appointment to see her. The midwife won't see you until 8 weeks. Hope this helps x

Congratulations. I didn't call my surgery until I was 8 weeks but that was because I'd experienced an early loss before so I was quite anxious. I was 10w3d when I saw my midwife who said one of the bloods should ideally have been done just before 9 weeks but she didn't seem too concerned and she understood why I hadn't all ed the earlier. She said ideally the surgery wants you to ring around 6 weeks but that could be different in your area.

I tested at 4wks. Asked at GP reception. Given midwife number, no questions. Rang and booked myself in- happened to have an appt at 5 weeks for booking in, which with hindsight was too early as it was such a long wait to dating scan.

Only saw GP as I was on medications that needed discussing. If it hadn't been for antidepressants, I'd not have seen him throughout pregnancy
