Any tips for activating labour, apart from, pineapple, raspberry leaf tea, sex, castor oil, lobster, walking up and down the stairs, brisk walks, bumpy car journeys, going to the hairdresser's and hot curries?

nipple tweaking brought on contractions for me but you have to do it for 15 mins every hour! then my waters broke and I still ended up being induced. I've heard good things about the homeopathic treatment cauphylium??? or something like.

Castor oil did it for me and the five mates who also did it! Don't think I should recommend it as such but i had no problem with it. Drank it with oj, had a poo, twice, and then gave birth!

It was sex that did it for me. Must admit it was the worst sex ever. But ½ hour after we did the deed contractions started. 1 hour and 24 minutes later dd arrived.

Sex! A friend told me a tip that the midwife had given her re what position would stimulate labour (not sure how much detail you want ) - well it worked for her and it worked for me 10 days overdue - contractions started within an hour and ds2 was born at 8.30 the next morning.

Stretch and sweep worked for me.. but now I'm intrigued by the position in which you should have sex.. Elderberry?

don't know whether someone has added this already..but aromotherapy oils are very good.my midwife mixed clary sage with lavender oil..smell is strong and u can either put a few drops in the bath or get hubby to massage it on ur back..very soothing

Cheers guys, please don't think I want to rush my baby: NO. I'm all for a spontaneous labour. But I just don't want to be induced (the consultant said I would be if I nothing happened at 41 weeks). So I just wanted some tips.
Sex seems to be the most popular one, I haven't tried it yet (can't really be bothered).
I'd like to know about that position that worked so well Elderberry? Don't worry about being graphic.
