No bump

Am getting bit concerned, as I don't show a bump at all!! I am 18 weeks on Saturday. Would have thought that by now, I must have grown a little, just because the baby is growing. I am very slim - does this make a difference?

Thanks

my friend is tiny and she didn't really show until 6 months and had a 7lb baby! if you are worried then speak to your midwife or doctor.

does your tummy feel different at all - i am 20 weeks and have a very small bump which some days you notice and some you dont, but if you press on it, its feels different than it did before being pg. I could feel little ridges for a few weeks before a bump appeared a few centimetres under my tummy button - and it moved up slowly till one day the bump jsut sort of appeared, but as i said - its still pretty small.

You get these women who don't know they are pregnant and never have a bump. Its probably all tucked in a weird way.

Nott hat your baby is weird You know what I mean.... I hope!

endless love, I am now 21 weeks pg and have only just started to "show" in the last couple of weeks. I think it's to do with the position the baby was in - it was kind of tucked up under my ribs for ages - but in the last few days it has moved down and I think is lying transverse at present - so I suddenly look very pregnant!

I am also very slim and this is my fourth too, so it was a bit of a surprise to get so far on with no visible bump. I was also quite sick for a long time and have only put on 4lb so far so I guess that could be a factor.

Thanks for messages

I seem to be flat in the morning and have a tiny tiny bump in the evening, back to flat the next morning. No one would even know I was pregnant and I really really want to show!!! I have a scan on Saturday and am really concerned there is no baby in there or the baby has not grown properly as I am not showing.

xx

Evening bump is very usual - your muscles all seem to give up by the end of the day

bambi06 · 15/03/2007 13:42

im the same and 19 weeks..but i was like this with my first two..i seem to have a lot of room inside pelvis so lots of room for expansion!! the only important thing is the measurement of uterus.basically its measured from pubic bone to top of uterus and is usually consisitent with how many weeks you are.for example im 19 weeks and have measured myself[worry emoticon] to preserve my sanity until i go and have my scan a t end of month and i`m 19 cms so all o.k in my eyes..try it and see.you need to lie down to check an be able to feel properly but i wouldnt worry as my two kids were fairly good birthweight and hardly put on with first and straight back into jeans after giving birth so it has its pluses

I hate you all.

I didn't show until I was 8 months, so I wouldn't worry too much, but if you are really concerned, I second the advice to speak to your GP or HV.

lol divasky chick! (I was huge)

Annie75 · 15/03/2007 14:29

Yep, don't worry - I haven't shown much until the last 4 days when I've suddenly got a little bump at 19 weeks. Two days ago I could wear my usual jeans and then realised the other night that I suddenly couldn't fasten them! I definitely notice more of a bump in the evening.

I did get a bit fed up with the 'but where's the baby?' comments as it makes you a bit paranoid about whether everything is alright - but the bottom line is that everyone's pregnancy is different. I think it might make a difference how tall you are as to when you start to show. My midwife did say they don't bother using your weight gain as a guide to baby growth any more - they do measurements instead like bambi06 suggested.

Make the most of it - you'll have a bump before you know it!
