Help! I think I broke my fanjo (ouch)

Last night I ran a bath for the kids. A little while later, I realised I had forgotten it and had visions of a flood.

So I break into a run to get to the bathroom to switch the taps off (a rather silly thing to do at 31 weeks pregnant). Unfortunately as I did so, there was a loud crack and since then I have been in agony.

I can't imagine what's going on down there (the pain is smack bang in the middle of my nethers).

Please somebody tell me it will get better soon.

let the breeze blow and take it easy
is there anyone around to help out til you get to the doc?

just to take your mind of things and because you ahve been around I will tell you that ......... I'm bloody sick of all this sunshine now. And clear blue skies, I want dappled light with a hint of mist speckling the broad leaves of deciduous trees.

But back to you and your fanjo. OUCH!

Papillon · 15/03/2007 05:41

ouch!

can someone rub it better? Loud crack, what would crack down fanjo way, sure it is not your hips cracking??

hope the doctor can help you out.

I am at work so no doc for me (I am not sure they could do much anyway).

My desk looks onto the most amazing view of Table Mountain and the Cape Town city centre, so it's not all doom and gloom. We have had a few really hot days but on the whole it's been quite nice - so I am not missing the soft mists of Kent too much.

My friend emailed me about the blossoms yesterday and that lovely feeling of being able to wear a lightweight top for the first time after winter. Now that I miss.

I think DH would love the chance Papillon (he has more chance of falling pregnant with twins by wind pollenation).

seriously though, I don't think it was my hips. It feels as if something has sort of split down there. Rolling over in bed and closing my legs are the worst.

I would imagine that SPD feels something like this.

have you had SPD at all this pregnancy?
I had it a bit this pregnancy just gone and did something similar sounding at about 36 weeks, running after DD as she made a break for a pond - also heard a loud crack. I think it was something dire happening to the same muscles that SPD affects - maybe you have pulled those muscles. Closing/opening legs and rolling over in bed problems also sounds like SPD symptoms.
It did get better in a couple of days but it bloody hurt. Take it easy if at all possible. If you had SPD they'd prob give you a support belt and some physio exercises, if it doesn't get better you may want to try to get referred...

sympathies!

dejags · 15/03/2007 05:57

Nope no SPD. But I am glad to hear that it will get better soon. I am at work so I am sitting still with no lifting of kids etc which is probably good.

DH is nagging me to go to the docs. I don't think they can help me .

go anyway - see it as an excuse to read the paper for half an hour in the waiting room.

Best wishes - hope you feel better soon.

mumto3girls · 15/03/2007 07:43

I think you should go to the docs just to have things checked out...

lurkylou · 15/03/2007 07:43

Just for peace of mind I'd go to the doctor for a quick visit.

Keep ing!!

Hopeitwontbebig · 15/03/2007 09:33

Poor you, I had this at end of my last pregnancy, didn't experience loud crack though. ouch. I'd def go to docs, they may be able to do something to help you. Good luck

LadyOfTheFlowers · 15/03/2007 09:36

if it is right in your fanjo, i have had that before, usually when getting a bit over enthusiastic at excercise before warming up. it feel a bit tlike a crack and burn at the same time? it goes away onit's own after a while.

when i had spd during my second pregnancy, the cracking was always deep inside my pelvis and usually when moving for a lying to a sitting position.

megandsoph · 15/03/2007 09:41

Deffo try and get it checked out Dejags. Sounfs like it could be your pubic bone.

You poor thing

BettySpaghetti · 15/03/2007 09:42

The pain you describe does sound like SPD.

When I had it it didn't start with a sudden "crack" as you descibed but someone I know jumped out of bed quickly whilst pregnant and heard that crack, it was the start of her SPD.

Please get yourself checked though. Good luck.
