"Your pregnant body gains at least 66 extra litres of fluid"... this can't be right?!

Seems a bit excessive! I hope someone knows if that's right because I want to know now!

Even if it said 6 litres I'd have thought that was an awful lot!

I've noticed inconsistencies in my bounty weekly articles. The other week it told me that at week 32 my baby is 48cm long and weighs about 4lbs. This week, at 33 weeks my baby has apparently shrunk to 44cm and weighs between 3-4lbs! 🤔

Well it feels like 60 litres of those are currently in my feet/cankles 😂

1 litre = 2.2lbs making that an extra 145lb weight gain.

Could be right. I had been looking the other week to find out how much amniotic fluid there is and it gets up to about 1l at its peak. The average human has between 4.5 to 5.5 litres of blood and blood volume is said to increase by 40% which is around another 2 litres. The body is made up of 60% water which for someone weighing 70kg is 42l (only example I could find). Add in the additional water retention when pregnant and it could get to 66l total I suppose

Sorry just noticed it said 'extra'. It might be total but definitely not that much extra!

Aww so we can't trust everything we read on the internet?
