So I've just come back from my doctors as I felt like I had water retention in my legs! I was told by the doctor I haven't and it's because I have gained to much weight!

I am 23weeks and have put on 11kg.. i know I have put on more than average, but would like to know what other people have put on? The doctor told me to restrict my carbs which I have already done.. but she just made me feel really bad about my weight gain!!

What is everyones weight gain for their pregnancies, should I be worried?

I'm 36 weeks (measuring 37) and have put on 3.5 stone.

I was a size 10/12 prior to getting pregnant and just 5ft 4'' tall.

I've eaten a healthy diet as my cravings have been fruit, vegetables and fuzzy water.

10kg at 27 weeks for me. I worried that was too much but tbh I'm more relaxed about it after a few days. You put on what you need to, every body is different. Don't stress:)

I am about 30 weeks and I gained 15 kg already!!!

I put on about 4 stone!! And I'm quite a small build. 1st and only pregnancy. Never got weighed during thank god but unsurprisingly I got sent for scan as I was measuring large ☺️ Baby was fine. I used it as an excuse to stuff my face, mostly healthy food though, and I think it's a mistake a lot of people make 1st time round. I believe a pregnant body will tell you what it needs. If you are stuffing junk food all day maybe slow down a little but if you are eating a generally healthy diet with a few extra treats thrown it don't worry about it. My extra weight all came off fine within 3/4 months with strict portion control and breastfeeding. As long as your baby is well and fine that's the main thing. Don't let it stress you out and enjoy the rest of the pregnancy.

Just to keep you all updated I did put on 4 1/2 stone through my whole pregnancy and my baby only weighed 6.8lbs and I lost it all after a month.. must of been all water weight!! So just to let you all know not to worry it does come off again 😉😉😉

Great update.
I put on 5 stone and had a 9lb baby.
Lost a lot within the first few months but by 9 months had lost it all apart from a few lbs.

We shouldn't be scared to feed our bodies when our bodies are asking for it whilst growing a baby.

Thanks for the update!! I'm 22 weeks and have been worrying about the 8kg I put on so that's very reassuring!! Congrats!

I have horrendous water retention both when I’m due on and when I’m pregnant.
I always gain about 3 stone as well, and also lose it all.

I’m surprised the doctor didn’t believe you when you asked if it was water, they were so obviously wrong!

I guess We all need to listen to our bodies as we know the best! I knew I was holding water but I let the doctor tell me otherwise 😬 Just to let you all know who is pregnant just Listen to your body and eat what you need and worry about the weight gain after 😊😂

Yes, I gained 15 kg overall that pregnancy, lost it all after a month or so and I started this pregnancy (12 weeks now) officially 2 kg lighter than the first one.

I ate much less as well. Was shocked after pregnancy how little my hubby put on my plate of an evening. My metabolism must just change dramatically.

Weight gain a massive worry for me too. First 20 weeks and I had lost a lot of weight due to hyperemesis. Now HG is under control (the joy of modern medicine!!) I've gained 12kg at 30 weeks. Absolutely shocked and disgusted at myself!! Don't know what I can do, am watching what I eat more than ever before I was pregnant and am exercising again now HG has died down... Scary!!
