Cramping at 5 weeks

Hi everyone, I know I'm probably just being over anxious but this is my first time pregnancy and I don't know if what I'm feeling is normal. I'm just over 5 weeks pregnant (5+3) and for the past week I've been having cramping in my stomach and 'pulling' pains in my very lower side, sort of groin area. Also got some really mild lower back pain. I've had no bleeding or spotting at all. Do you think this sounds normal? I have my appointment with the hospital next week and when I had my initial Drs appointment a couple days ago he didn't really do much, was in an out in 2 mins! I suffer with anxiety as it is so I'm prob overthinking and just thinking the worst. Lay awake all night last but because of these pully pains - they're not unbeatable or anything though. Thanks for any advice xx

Cramping in early pregnancy is totally normal.

Congratulations!!

Totally normal! I'm 11+5 and honestly I've had all manner of cramps, twinges, pulling feelings since the day I got my BFP. Don't worry, as long as it's not unbearable or accompanied by red spotting then I think you're fine.

Congratulations!

@Justmadeperfectflapjacks @HeyJupiter Ahh thank you both!! I keep googling symptoms and going straight to the worst possible scenario. Also keep doing pregnancy tests 🙈

So normal to be anxious but your confidence will grow as time goes by :) I was doing pregnancy tests every week for the first few weeks!

Thank you for the congrats!

You can expect to feel a lot more of this 'pulling' sensation. It's just your ligaments stretching etc. Your body is preparing for your growing belly. Perfectly normal to be nervous especially first time round. Remember, if anything ever really concerns you, you shpuld contact your midwife for advice. You never waste their time. Congratulations Flowers

I had a lot of aches and pain like this at around 5-6 weeks. In fact one night when I was 6 weeks it was so painful, I felt sick, fainted twice and was lying on the bedroom floor for over half an hour before it eased. I was terrified I was losing the baby, but I had no bleeding. Called my doctor first thing in the morning and I was sent for an early scan to make sure everything was ok. And it was. The hospital said it was probably just implantation pain and that I could take paracetamol if I need to.
