Has anyone got pregnant 7/8 months after 3rd section?

I've had sections 7yrs ago, 5 yrs ago and 10 months ago. I'm currently 14 weeks pregnant. This was unplanned and quite a shock although a happy one. However I am worried about how soon after my last section it is. Has anyone else been in a similar position?

I had a 14 month age gap although it was after 1 c section.
You should be seeing a consultant as you've had past sections. I imagine they'd be pretty nervy about vbac due to 3 sections and the close together. What do you want to do?
And congratulations!

Thanks @Abbey :)
I will probably see consultant after 20 week scan, if they show up lol.
My last 3 were 8lb 9oz @ 38 wk, 10lb 9oz @ 39 wk, 9lb 14oz @ 40 wk so if it looks like another biggy I wouldn't even attempt vbac. I will probably just see how it all goes. Did they have any concerns about you getting pregnant so soon other than rupture in labour?

Hi odddocks. I have a few friends with short intervals between cs3+4. They were under consultant care but not much was said about it. I can't imagine a vbac would ever be advised under those circumstances.

I'm pregnant with dc4 after 3cs but last one was 6 years ago. Did they say anything when seeing you up last time? Mine said they wouldn't recommend another but that they say that to everyone after 3cs.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 07/05/2017 22:35

No they had no concerns. I was under tremendous pressure to vbac actually but for various reasons I didn't want to.
I was concerned about rupture but my consultant wasn't!
Did they say anything to you after your other sections about how they went?

Oddsocksforeveryone · 07/05/2017 22:36

Actually they said they had ladies who had several sections. Up to 6 I think. But the day I had my section one of midwife or whoever ticking off a check list said "and you're being sterilised?" Which threw me a bit but I said no.
Its my birthday 7 days before my current due date so it's even more exciting. I held out til 40 weeks with dd because I was hoping to vbac, no point this time. Have you booked your day yet?

@abbey with the second one they freaked me out during pregnancy about risks and whatnot but then when I went into labour they just kept sending me home. Took me Friday night-Monday morning to get to 4cm they weren't bothered at all. With third one some consultants were opinionated about vbac, one said I nearly killed my baby trying to vbac (I then got a bit shouty) but my actual consultant went through everything and said it was probably actually my BP dropping during surgery that made baby poorly. Third one was last July and was so easy and nice I was home within 24 hours of getting out of surgery. I think because I rested better with second I healed better so less scar tissue and adhesions? It was tricky getting second out so they were expecting a mess but it was fine.

There was exactly 12 months between my 1st and 2nd c-sections. I had no problems at all

frogsgoladidahdidah · 07/05/2017 22:46

Hi! My first two sections were 14 months apart, then three year gap, then 19 month gap.

I was out on bed rest for the last 6 weeks of last pregnancy as doctor was concerned about internal bleeding. I was unconcerned but did as was told (Netflix fest!) and let DH take over...

We just celebrated #4's second birthday!

Good luck!

Oddsocksforeveryone · 07/05/2017 22:57

@frogs how the hell did you manage bed rest with a 1 year old?
I'm resting as much as possible at the moment because I've had terrible sickness and am having to take pills 3 times a day but today I've had a bit of a weird day.
Burning pain on and off in my internal scar, my BP is normally about 125/75 but today went up to 149/84 and my pulse was 112 I felt really strange. But I was chasing baby around with doppler all over place yesterday and my belly looked bigger today so I'm thinking baby/uterus just had a really busy day.

I'm not booked in yet oddsocks as very early pregnant. I will try to get beyond 39 weeks though as ds3 was born with respiratory distress syndrome. Have you got a date?

Oddsocksforeveryone · 08/05/2017 07:35

@Big oh bless you that must have been hard. Nope no date yet, I'm 15 weeks today.

Maybe if my consultant shows up to 20wk scan I'll book one? Not sure.
I've just remembered they booked me an appointment for vbac clinic last month but I cancelled it because I thought I'm too early there's no point starting that chaos yet.

It was horrible at the time but resolved very quickly. I can't believe they are looking at vbac - my midwife was very heavy on the risk of rupture even with an elcs (which I think was grossly over reacting to be fair - she said me being pregnant again 'makes her hair curl' Hmm).

Oddsocksforeveryone · 08/05/2017 12:12

Makes her hair curl? What a thing to say.
I've really found that the care/advice I've been given really depends on the attitude/opinion and mood of the person you're speaking to, in all of my pregnancies. It's very confusing because you would think the professional opinions would be at least similar but they really can be one person says panic! The next says ahh you'll be fine.
BUT it wouldn't surprise me that they would drag me into the hospital to "vbac clinic" just to wait around for hours and be told I can't vbac why am I there lol.

Bedrest was tricky! More like couch rest. Thank god for CBeebies!
