Blood test hcg less than 1 but still getting bfps!

Hi all, I'm looking for some advice, I got a bfp two weeks ago and signs of pregnancy, kept testing for two weeks with pink dyes, all bfp, some faint some darker but definitely there, I showed my bf and he could see them too, had a scan where they saw nothing but said it was probably too early, then I had a blood test to measure for hcg and it came back as less than one, so I assumed I'd had a very early miscarriage or a chemical, however I still had symptoms and I had some tests left, they are all positive! With a blood level of less than one there's no way an hpt would come back positive, so what the heck is going on?! Could the blood test have been wrong, or maybe there's something wrong with me healthwise? Has any else had a similar experience?

The bleeding slowed down and stopped after an hour or so, nothing since, used my last test this morning to make sure it was all over as I want to start charting again and got another positive stronger than the others! There must be something else causing them as I can't still be pregnant, I'm going to try a completely different test to see what happens, superdrug and Lloyd's are supposed to be really good for early testing, if they're giving tons of false positives I'll be complaining to the companies!

You gotta click on the pic to see it properly, there's a clear inverted line. I'm going to my gp next week to see if he has any idea what might cause bfps other than pregnancy, I've read that other things like protein in the urine for example can cause a bfp.

That looks like a negative test.

Stop buying tests.
Go see the gp if you think you are eptopic

These tests aren't positive. I am pretty good at seeing very very faint lines (e.g. 7dpo) but I don't see anything here, even with the inverting and taking it out of the case (which you shouldn't need to do). Taking pregnancy tests can be a completely crazy-making business and I have definitely been in your shoes (usually wanting it to be negative!) but I think you need to stop testing for now and worrying yourself.

I had a mmc a few years ago and it took weeks and weeks to stop getting bfps. Was incredibly depressing, as I tested about a month after the mc and believed it was a new pregnancy. But as pp has said, may be a sign of something retained. Sorry for your loss x

I see a line on the inverted one. I can't help with why or how, I just wanted to say I could see it as others couldn't.

Thanks everyone, also I'm glad someone else could see the line, thought I was going loopy lol, I am going to stop testing for a bit, and do one in a couple of weeks, just want to know everything's sorted itself out and stopped being weird so I can try again next cycle, I will wait for the result of the test before going to the gp I think x

My friend who's pregnant gave me her leftover frer and clearblue early to do today, both came up positive straight away, frer was stronger than the clearblue, I've uploaded the frer. I'm incredibly sore in my womb area, sex hurts really badly and even sitting is awful, I'm absolutely bamboozled, starting to think I've had some kind of complication from the miscarriage

With all due respect you need to see a medical professional asap as doing test after test with the same result won't tell you anything, and if you have had some sort of complication or have an ectopic, it's potentially life threatening.

Please contact NHS Direct or go straight to a&e if you haven't already.

I know I know, I'm just scared of getting bad news, I don't think it's ectopic cos I would have thought my blood hcg would be higher, I will make an appointment tomorrow

Ok I have a question if anyone might have any opinions please let me know 5 years ago after I had my son I had clamps put on 1 year ago my left one fell off and just about two days ago I started feeling nautious and my boyfriend told me he thought I had milk in my breast and I had checked and I do so I went and bought a home pregnancy test and I see a faint line on it so I thought I was pregnant I went to the hospital and had a blood test and they said my hcg levels were less than 1 and that I was not pregnant and I am still nautious and tired alot and have breast milk I don't know what's going on anyone opion would help thanks

Hi I went through my first round of IVF and went today to do my HcG blood test. I got a call 3 hours ago saying that it was 1 so there is no chance that I am pregnant.

I have had strong symptoms of pregnancy and all of them. I am now getting period type cramping. This is the first time since I have had all my symptoms.

It could be my mind playing tricks on me. But I was so so sure. Im heart broken now. How can it be that I am not pregnant?

I had a long day yesterday, could this have contributed. Did I do something wrong?

I was told to stop taking my progesterone and would soon bleed, as I haven’t as yet. At all.

I’m having the same issue. I had a blood test come out positive but urine negative. Then three weeks later had another test done of my hcg levels and it shows less then 1. I’m still not having my period. So I’m like am I still pregnant. Waiting on my period to come down if I’m having a miscarriage.

@Twinklestarr79 sorry i know this is old but I am going through the same thing, big bleed. Bfp and hcg below 1. What did yours turn out to be?
