Slightly scared I'm working up to early labour at only 29 weeks

Apologies for tmi parts but would like to canvas opinion: I'm expecting DC2 and am feeling really really odd. Braxton Hicks started a few weeks ago but have been very intense this week, and even more so and slightly painful the last two days. I've been having a LOT of discharge, some of which yesterday was slightly brown, though whitish again today. And I've had a good, erm, clear-out on the loo which I know can happen before labour. I also feel weird -spacey and slightly nauseous and exhausted and tearful all at the same time.
The baby is also sitting really oddly/ uncomfortably - not sure it's dropped, just I'm really noticing they're in there, iyswim, compared to a few days ago.

I know I'm probably being crazy - none of these things is odd at all in itself - and I feel mad calling the hospital. I only saw the midwife on Thursday and she was perfectly happy with everything then. The baby's still moving around fine.

I just feel... odd.

To complicate this I've never actually gone into labour before naturally - DS was induced because of gestational diabetes. So I don't know how I feel pre-labour - I've just got things I've read to go on...

If I call the hospital and say I feel weird, there's nothing they can really do, is there?

No advice I am afraid just wishing you well! If in any doubt get checked xxxxx

Looking back they must have been painful! But I thought they were cramps/Braxton hicks. Hope you are much better this morning x

Just to echo what someone else said (without trying to scare you!), I don't believe pre-term labour is the same as term labour. When I was 27+2 with my son I had what I thought was Braxton Hicks all night. They weren't painful, just uncomfortable, and I had what felt like period pains in my lower back. I went in to be checked out and they told me I was dilated and would have my son later that day. He came a few hours later. My contractions were never that painful until the last 10 mins or so.

How are you think morning op?

I felt really odd for a couple of days before I went into labour with dd1. When I phoned the hospital they told me to take a bath with paracetamol.
An hour later I was rushing to hospital and dd1 was born 6 hours later at 26wks. Even now I can't quite point to how I went from feeling odd to full blown labour.

Just get them to check you out for sone peace of mind.

I'm ok today - contractions and cramps have stopped and I actually feel a bit fluey. I ache all over and have a raging sore throat, so thinking maybe yesterday was just me coming down with something! Have exams tomorrow and Thursday so could do without this tbh but very glad it doesn't seem to be the baby coming! I've been lying on the sofa with DS watching Paw Patrol all morning, and as soon as I can wake DH up I think I'm going back to bed Blush.

That's great, sounds like you need a lovely day under your duvet. Take care x

sleepingdragons · 01/05/2017 10:35

Hope you feel better. Please don't delay calling the MW if the labour type symptoms come back.

Funnyonion17 · 01/05/2017 11:08

I've had this for 4 weeks. Are you dehydrated?

AmpersandRea · 01/05/2017 12:43

Take care. A rest day sounds good.

If you're worried again please go to the hospital. Premature labour symptoms are different to full term labour symptoms, so if you're at all worried get checked out.
