Do Braxton Hicks get worse in subsequent pgs or have I just forgotten what they are like?

Do Braxton Hicks get worse in subsequent pgs?

I am on preg no2 and embarrassingly have to stop frequently while walking due to bump pain (which I assume are BHs)
Now with no1 I wasn't pushing a toddler in a buggy but I don't recall them being this strong or painful.

Well today I quit the clary sage and my BH's have reduced in number, but deepened in intensity.
Low down, can feel it pulling my back and legs a bit too.
These feel like they're doing something IYKWIM

And the relief from not having them every 10 minutes
Phew

How goes it Piffle? Any news.....

Love babies, so snugly and cute. Cant wait for mine to come out now. Only another 8 weeks to go!!!!

Piffle · 15/03/2007 21:16

midwife diagnosed false labour, apparently I am dilating and effacing and all that jazz, so she says anytime in the next week or so!!!!!!!!!!

I am getting decent contractions 15 mins apart on and off all day say 6-7 in a row then nothing for an hour, thens tartign back up again - these are different from the BH's of last week, these are fiercely strong!
She said that at some point they will establish, but when that point is, nobody knows...

Poor you Piffle, hopefully it will happen soon. It is s tiring though, you march round all day and do silly things to try and get the baby out and by the evening your so tired you just say to the baby "please not tonight.....im too tired" LOL

It can only be another couple of weeks or so, it has to come out eventually....

Piffle · 19/03/2007 16:33

Had a humungous day of the BH's yesterdya, was bored so DP and I counted them
122
today calmer but much more powerful contractions.

Like you say... he cannot stay in there forever
EDD is friday....

I'm on my first pregnancy (37 weeks) and haven't really noticed any braxton hicks - does that mean I'm going to have a really long ineffectual labour?

Kif · 19/03/2007 17:09

yup

lazyemma · 19/03/2007 17:11

noooo!

lazyemma · 20/03/2007 07:44

just to clarify, so I don't spend the next 3 weeks freaking the fuck out, can anyone clarify whether kif's doom-laden prediction has any truth to it?

hollyandalice · 20/03/2007 07:51

No truth!! I had no BH when pg with my dd and she was born in 4 hours! Don't worry, you'll be fine!

lazyemma · 20/03/2007 08:00
