Hello!
Bought a bulk pack of these supposedly 10miu one step pregnancy test strips and have been a bit obsessive doing them a few times a week, did one this morning, waited probably a minute and just binned it, went back and looked probably a few hours later, as I do all the time - and there was the thinnest faintest what looked like pink to me line, got very excited as I've never had an evap line when I've gone back to tests before... did another one because I'm crazy and kept monitoring and I would say with in ten minutes there was a very faint slightly thicker than the first one pink to me line?! These photos don't do them much justice, look very close, please someone tell me what they think/that I'm not seeing things?! Everything crossed!!!

Are you actually late, op? Confused

user1490011380 · 27/04/2017 11:03

I don't really know, as only cam off the pill 16th Feb... but have had faint positive tests every day since Sunday... have had a few stomach cramps, and just feel like my period is due any second! For the last few days! Xx

Feeling like you're about to come on your period is normal.. I had this almost every day until I was at least 6 weeks preggers! Your tests look like they are getting darker to me OP. They won't get really really dark until you are quite late for AF

Cramps are quite common in very early pregnancy. I was convinced my period was coming as I had a solid week of cramping. Although it did feel a bit different, more like stretching than cramping. It's often just things settling in. So don't let cramps worry you.

Darkness of lines are not always a reliable indicator either. That's not a bad positive you have there. You're pregnant. Now breathe and step away from the tests for now!

Also (and I don't mean this in a horrible way) but if things go wrong, there is absolutely nothing you can do to prevent it at this early stage. I'm not saying that in a mean way, just that what will be, will be, so try and relax. Although I know that's easier said than done Wink

Thank you so much, I know all of this, I just keep needing reassurance...! so badly want it, and nothing is indicating anything odd. I think I will just be happier to get a more solid line! Do I wait a while to contact gp?
I know... what will be will be. I am happy my body is back up and running after coming off the pill so soon.
Why is it all so difficult lol xx

You are pregnant both positive tests congratulations!!

haveacupoftea · 27/04/2017 12:07

Those tests are getting darker for sure. Try not to panic because some days they don't get darker at all. But those are great line on ICs considering your period isn't even de yet. Often you can't get a positive on IC for days after it's due.

frauleinsallybowles · 27/04/2017 12:14

congratulations op i can see a line on these tests and they are getting darker

BertieBotts · 27/04/2017 12:43

You can contact GP if you want, but they won't book you in until 10 weeks ish anyway. So I would wait until 6 weeks by which point you'll have a good strong line.

Until then, take folic acid and do nothing. If you experience abnormal or one sided pain, or bleeding after you've seen a positive test, then phone your local hospital's early pregnancy unit, as they will need to check you're not experiencing an ectopic pregnancy. But other than that, you have to wait and see what happens naturally.

hCG takes 48 hours to double in the early days, so waiting 48 hours between tests should give you a nice progression of lines. But once it gets from squinter to visible even by a sceptical husband territory, you won't see the line keep getting darker. These tests are supposed to be binary - they show a presence of hCG over a certain amount (pregnant) or not (not pregnant). The fact that they show a really faint line when you're just on the cusp of the limit is beside the point, it's just torturous when you're trying to guess!

You could try one of the digital week indicator tests but even those are prone to giving faulty results and can cause unnecessary worry.

Thank you everyone, and that last message was really helpful thank you. I know I am pregnant for the time being and just need to chill the fluff out... but I am a serial tester and just worried I guess! With the faint lines and feeling like my period is coming... but all the while there is no blood or pain and there's a line I guess I should just stop worrying, that's all I can do xx
