Morning sickness - what helped for you? It's making me miserable

I've thrown up every meal I've eaten today, except for a couple of small snacks (a small pasty and handful of nuts).
Threw up my tea, started to feel really hungry again so had literally 2-3 leaves of salad and a glass of milk and just feel so sick again.
The nausea is constant, I know I'm being a wimp but I just can't stand it!! What can I do?

Food little and often, and travel sickness bands

brownear · 19/04/2017 08:37

Plus ice lollies

LittleLostRoeDeer · 19/04/2017 08:37

Refreshers for me. I pretty much lived on them.

Lweji · 19/04/2017 08:38

Small sips of water throughout the day.
Keeping my stomach cold.
Smaller meals.

I tried ginger biscuits, but I can't stand ginger, it turned out.

Flowers Hope you start to feel better soon. Most people find pg sickness gradually passes as the pg progresses. If you think you're not eating enough, pls discuss urgently with mw. Good luck Smile

getting up before it started!!

I used to find if I woke up normally then the nausea would hang around all damned day...I was only actually sick once or twce, but it's such a miserable feeling.

If i woke up early and got up then it seemed to not get a hold of me

Sandsnake · 19/04/2017 08:44

You're not being a wimp - morning sickness is bloody awful! I was helped by salty crisps and ice lollies. Also taking my time in the morning and trying to eat something like a plain biscuit before I got out of bed helped. Lots of water. Rest where you can. Congrats on the pregnancy and I really hope you feel better soon Smile

I find it incredible that some of you have managed this with small children to look after at the same time! You are amazing

Going to stock up on a variety of these items before work Smile

Morning after the night before, where the night before was throwing up ever 10 minutes! No idea that was a thing. Only been nauseous until now. I'm finding it really helpful to have a cold flannel on my face. Think maybe it combats the feeling of dehydration.

janeje · 25/04/2017 17:55

No to morning sickness tea and soda crackers helped me out. I can't promise the same for you because morning sickness is a fickle creature. But anything you can get into your body, even if you do toss your cookies afterward helps. You need to get many nutrients into your system as you can.

confusedat23 · 25/04/2017 19:01

Anything Salty and Carby!... however i know a girl who the only thing she could keep down was chocolate stuff

LiusaidhJ · 25/04/2017 19:06

I barely managed meals, just ate a steady stream of Jacobs cream crackers (plain) throughout the day at regular intervals. I also had to sip water with them. If I drank a normal glass it would come straight back up.

29 weeks now and my sickness has gone (thank god) except if I drink too much water first thing it comes straight back up.

Really feeling for you, it's horrible. Feeling for all the HG sufferers too, luckily my sickness only lasted til about 16 weeks.

Lukeandlorelai4Ever · 25/04/2017 19:15

I really feel for you Flowers
I was vomiting up to ten times a day, i used to carry a plastic bag in the car everyday and without fail every evening when I left work I had to pull in, to puke into bagBlush

I wore those sickness bands right through my pregnancy and only took them off when I was wheeled down for c section!

I lived off fizzy drinks, dry cereal, sweets, crisps, mc Donald's chips and oranges up to 15 weeks then I added in mashed potatoes and pasta.
Went right off meat for whole of pregnancy.

Sickness only lasted till 15 weeks, thought I'd never feel better again!

Eating little and often will help.

Hope it passes quickly for you!

Full sugar lemonade (I loved the R Whites one) with lots of ice cubes in
Salt and vinegar crisps
Green apples

RollingRolling · 25/04/2017 19:30

Anti-sickness medication.

Seriously. It's 2017. You don't need to suffer Flowers

Jellybabie3 · 25/04/2017 20:33

I sucked on lollies really slowly so i had sugar and taste without anything hard hitting my stomach.

Mini cheddars were ok and plain crisps

Spaghetti pasta - plain

Goodluck OP, it will hopefully pass x

Michellemc1xo · 25/04/2017 22:35

Literally nothing helped me my last pregnancy, this time round it passed after the first trimester. Although nothing helped me people say ginger helps and also try keep something in your stomach even if it's just water otherwise it will just make your vomiting harder on you because your stomach will be empty

KittyWindbag · 26/04/2017 00:20

Crisps, saltine crackers, very sour sweets, haribo dizzy cola bottles.

I lived off this for about 14 weeks.
