Can it happen right away? Or does it take a few months?

10 days. And I had been on the pill for 20 years.

Prepare for it to take ages. But also for it to maybe not. Wink

All of my friends waited months after coming off of the pill... some of them really struggled. I was REALLY popular when I was up the spout after a week or so!

mumblechum0 · 16/04/2017 12:03

2 weeks

danTDM · 16/04/2017 12:04

1 cycle, at 37.

mum2be2boys · 16/04/2017 16:55

11 months, I was on the pill for 10 years.

ememem84 · 16/04/2017 17:06

10 months. On pill for almost 10 years

Wreckingball25 · 16/04/2017 17:33

On the pill for 20 years and took consecutive packs for the last seven years with no breaks because of endometriosis pain. Stopped early December, had one long cycle, one normal cycle and conceived on the third cycle (aged 36) in early March last year.

Stopped taking the pill last weekend in October 2016, conceived on the 6th cycle and currently 5+1 pregnant x

KayLea1988 · 16/04/2017 19:21

About 8 months for us.

Periods were pretty irregular for 6 months and we were more seeing what happens rather than actively trying!

BentleyBelly · 16/04/2017 22:30

We conceived straightaway in the first cycle, was a bit of a surprise!

Xmasbaby11 · 16/04/2017 22:34

I fell pregnant on my second cycle. This was my second dc though - much quicker than with dc1.

InThisTogether · 17/04/2017 10:16

3.5 years. But we didn't give up!

RoseBud2016 · 17/04/2017 11:24

27 months and 3 rounds of IVF; all of which resulted in pregnancy but the first 2 sadly ended in miscarriage. I'm now 29 weeks pregnant and praying this is it.

ew1990 · 17/04/2017 11:30

2 years! Finally happened in Feb x

ja73 · 17/04/2017 13:21

I was on Ovranette for years (since I was 18 years old), then my doctor switched me to Micronor (mini-pill) after I reached 35 years old. I'm now 43 years old. I came off Micronor in Feb, and am 5+ weeks pregnant. We were VERY surprised. Terrified and paranoid as I'm a geriatric first-timer!

mummabubs · 17/04/2017 17:48

I'm 28 and had been on Yasmin for 3 years when we started trying- we read all about how it takes several months for your cycle to return to normal and then 6-12 months on average to conceive so husband and I prepared ourselves for a wait... and then I promptly fell pregnant the first month I was off the pill 😂

Bobbiebrown · 24/12/2020 00:22

When did you get your bfp after coming off, what were your signs x

JustAnotherUserinParadise · 24/12/2020 04:44

I was on the progesterone-only pill, but second cycle! (although first cycle we used condoms so could possibly have happened sooner)

jessstan1 · 24/12/2020 05:57

I can't remember. Not very long I think. Certainly no more than 'average', I wasn't worried. It was nice when it happened.

However I have heard of people who can take a year to conceive even though both have nothing amiss and ovulation happens normally. The body and mind always work together and are funny old things really. The number of women I've known who honestly believe they will never, or even cannot, conceive, then they do - and have three children one after the other!

ame88 · 24/12/2020 06:00

I conceived 5 months after stopping BC! Seems like it's just different for everyone!

Fairywings123 · 24/12/2020 07:31

With my first at 20 it took 6 months, with my second at 34 it took 6 weeks, after stopping my pill after 13 years!
