Has anyone fell pregnant even though they have taken the morning after pill? Especially Ellaone?

Seeker, the health care professional supplying it to you should have told you that if you are sick with three hours of taking it you will need to repeat the dose as soon as possible. If ovulation has already occurred then unfortunately it's highly unlikely to prevent pregnancy. You can also have a copper coil fitted within 5 days which can prevent implantation of a fertilised egg. Do you think you have already ovulated?

Also it is quite common to be sick and nauseous after taking it due to the large dose of hormones it contains

JiltedJohnsJulie · 13/04/2017 22:44

Me too. Had a condom split, took MAP and was still pg.

RandomMess · 13/04/2017 22:47

My DD is 20, I was 6 stone 3 when I got pregnant despite taking the MAP, my housemate at the time got pregnant a week later after also taking the map and she was maybe 9 stone...

Seriously how do they know it works at all, there is no way you can reliably test the MAP - some would have got pregnant, most wouldn't have!

Thank you all for your replies. ive been sick on and off again over the past few days it's been a week since I took the MAP
I've been stressing my self out and worrying that it's not worked. I'm due on Tuesday so hopefully my period arrives then. I've seen in the chemist they have early pregnancy tests that you can use from 5 days before your period is due.. anyone have any experience using these or should I just wait till Tuesday? Any advice is appreciated

Yes he's over a year old now. Apparently 1 brand of pill is a lot more reliable.

Me!! 🙋🏼

First response early test is pretty sensitive for an early result. Or clear blue digital. Don't bother with the cheap internet stocks they are rubbish.

I think there should be more awareness that this isn't foolproof. My DD had a broken condom as a teenager and told me the next morning. It was a bank holiday weekend so she was given the MAP at the NHS walk in centre and took it properly under supervision. Yet she became pregnant. I always think of it when I read "no excuse for unwanted pregnancy".....

lazycrazyhazy · 20/04/2017 21:37

She was maybe 8 stone!

seekerseeker · 20/04/2017 23:03

I agree lazycrazyhazy
It's been 12 days since dtd and 7 days since I took the last MAP but yet have been sick, felt sick and still have these horrible cramps. I'm due Tuesday but done an early pg test and came back negative but I really think that I am pregnant and tested far too early, I just have this feeling so will try to stop myself from testing again.

seekerseeker that's hard. I took the MAP once and didn't end up pg if that is any consolation. I also regretted having taken it in a way- though not something I'd often think of now (have 3dc) . I hope you get the outcome you're after.

seekerseeker · 22/04/2017 19:51

Dreaming - thank you.
I've been torturing myself and wasting money I don't really have have done two more since so in total 2 clear blue and 1 first response and all three are negative. I do wonder if I'm making my self ill by thinking the map didn't work. I'm like clockwork so hoping that come Tuesday my period starts,

Be aware that taking MAP can mess about with your cycle.

As I said above it didn't work for me, I had no symptoms at all - no sickness, no cramping, no feeling ill etc etc. I think when the MAP work it usually does make you feel unwell.
