A challenge, right? We do plan to go try a few out but was wondering if anyone has suggestions? Id prefer a carrycot position too. Unfortunately we cant change the car!

Would you say it would suit someone tall? My DP is 6'2

I've got a Mini Cooper S (5 door) and have just had dd2, we ended up buying Phil and Ted 3 wheel double buggy (takes the maxi cosi cabriofix) and it fits bloody brilliantly, better than dd1s fancy travel system, and oddly a lot better than the maclaren umbrella folding stroller too. It's a fab buggy, realy easy to put up and down, massively versatile, great off road (if that's your thing). Obviously you don't have to buy the double, the single is pretty much exactly the same size folded. There's still room for a good amount of shopping too.

I really wish we went for the 5 door. We looked at one but for some odd reason decided against it. Silly now.

I don't think height would be an issue with the pram. My dad helped push DD1 around in it without any issues/complaints in town and he is 6ft.

Thanks. I wonder if they are stocked in local mothercares etc, so we could try them. Would you just call the local store?

I had gone to a Pram Centre so I could try it out and make sure it fit in my car before we bought it. I'm sure you could call up local stores to see what is in stock to try out.

I'm a total newbie, pram centre... Never heard of that (Googles)

The handle on the easywalker adjusts high - my older sons (taller than my DP) have pushed it comfortably and they are both 6'3".

Thank you. It's £689 for the full travel system... Is that too much?

DP, thinks it's crazy but most I see/like are similar in price

It really depends to be honest. Too much for one is reasonable for another! A lot of travel systems are at least that much if that includes a car seat? Our pram (icandy peach) was £750(ish) plus car seat and base which were another £400. I felt that was expensive but reasonable for what we got. Others wouldn't dream of spending half that!

Obviously you can also get cheaper options but you would be a bit limited on which models suit your needs due to the space restrictions. You could look at second hand (for the pram not the car seat) if you wanted? I wanted a new pram, I'm sure second hand would have been fine but I wanted a new one! That was just my personal preference though.

One thing it's really worth doing is going together and trying them all out. My DH was a bit surprised by how expensive they were but when we went and tried them out we really liked the iCandy and he could kind of see why it was more pricy. Plus you really don't know until you try, I was really keen on a bugaboo donkey but was less keen on it in real life.

I had an Oyster system. The wheels come off quickly and easily and the whole lot fitted in the minuscule boot of the Fiat 500C I used to have. I could even fit shopping in too!

tootsieglitterballs · 07/04/2017 14:02

I have a Mini Cooper (although now selling as we are expecting number 2)

We went with the silver cross surf - you still had to take the wheels off the back, but at least it fit!
Tiny basket though (mind you, with a mini and a baby, not such a bad thing!)

WhingingTulip · 07/04/2017 14:04

We paid less than that as we found it on offer in Mothercare.

Just checked, Mothercare have the pushchair for £214.99 currently and there is brand new carrycot listed on eBay for £74.99 - would work out cheaper!!

OnNaturesCourse · 07/04/2017 21:33

Much cheaper! Need to shop around
