Hospital bag, done a death but do I have everything?

I packed my hospital bag tonight, at 33w2d, as I'm currently on annual leave before mat leave and want to relax as much as possible during mat leave (I teach, it's xurrently the Easter holiday's and definitely not a relaxing time!).

I have one blue holdall, slightly bigger than a gym holdall, and I am planning an elcs which should be arranged one week tomorrow. I'm UK based, hence taking everything bar the kitchen sink with me.

For the baby I have:

  • 20 nappies
  • bundle of nappy sacks
  • packet of wipes
  • packet of cotton pads
  • two newborn vests
  • two newborn sleepsuits
  • two 0-3 vests
  • two 0-3 sleepsuits
  • blanket
  • muslins and bibs
  • going home outfit (sleepsuit, vest, cardigan, hat)

For me I have -
  • one nighty for after csection while I still have the catheter
  • two pajama sets, loose and baggy black bottoms and comfy top
  • one going home outfit of leggings and long top
  • four comfort bras
  • one packet of big knickers
  • two packs of super ultra pads with wings, 20 in total
  • socks
  • toilet bag with travel shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, face wash, moisturiser, deodrant toothpaste and toothbrush
  • bobbles, kirbies, brush and dry shampoo
  • plastic bags for dirty clothes

I still need -
  • towel
  • nipple cream
  • breast pads
  • flip flops for the shower and to wear on the ward
  • big brother present

To go in on the day -
  • phone, kindle and charger
  • purse
  • makeup (small makeup bag with powder, lipbalm and mascara)
  • mat notes
  • snacks and drinks

It seems like a lot but it fits in this bag no bother, which makes me wonder if I'm missing anything? I think with my first I had a small, cabin sized, suitcase and a holdall but I really can't remember.

Have I missed anything? Added anything that seems daft?

... or maybe I was just particularly oozy Blush

I remember feeling it was a gross injustice that I'd been through a long old birth, only to leak from the waist down for weeks!

I had to stay in hospital for 3 nights and it was bloody hot in the delivery room and on the post natal room. After sweating like a pig during labour and afterwards when I had a fever (got an infection) I was very glad to be able to wash my hair in the shower! So definitely take a little bottle of shampoo - even if you don't end up using it, it doesn't take up much room.

Yeah I'd been through a long labour with DS1 and washing my hair made me feel slightly more human, even though it felt like my insides were falling put after emcs.

This time it should be a straight forwars elcs so hopefully I won't feel as disgusting from the waist up!
