Find out the gender? - twins

Hi,
Help! I'm 25 weeks pregnant with non-identical twins. We've been backwards and forwards with wanting to find out the genders and not.

Cons - I wouldn't get 'the surprise' and considering how long it took us to get pregnant with these 2, I'm pretty sure this will be our only pregnancy so no chance for the other option in the future.

Pros - I feel it would be easier to bond with my bump. At the moment I have a really wriggly 'twin 1' and a quieter 'twin 2'. I feel like knowing the genders would help me form a fuller picture of the little people growing inside me...

Plus (and please remember that we're so so grateful to be in this position and thankful for anything) but we do have preferred gender combinations Blush. Would it be better to find out now or at the birth if it was our least favourite option? (I feel really guilty even saying those words out loud and immediately follow it with, 'as long as they're healthy'!!)

DH feels the same on pros and cons and we just can't decide!!

Thoughts? Smile

I've been totally swamped with life the past few days so I've not had a chance to post. I just wanted to say a huge thanks for all the comments - love love loved getting everyone's different perspective and there were lots of aspects brought up I hadn't even considered so really interesting and useful too thank you Smile (p.s still undecided but leaning towards keeping it a surprise Grin) xx

I haven't had twins but I've had one baby and am currently pg with DC2 and I've found out the gender both times.

Everyone asks me why I don't want a surprise on the day and my answer is that it's a surprise whenever you find out and I am far too impatient to wait! Also, pregnancy goes on for a million years - it's nice to have something to break it up a bit.

I have found it also makes everything more real for me and I can think about names and plan things like, which I really like. Even though we never actually managed to agree on the name with DC1 until he had actually arrived.

Just do what you feel now for the time being - you can always change your mind at other scans etc if you want to find out - you might catch a glimpse by accident on a scan too so make sure that the sonographer tells you not to look if they scan past the babies bits! DC1 was flashed up loud and clear on the 20 weeks scan just because the sonographer was passing on the way to do the leg measurements. Grin

Congratulations and enjoy your pregnancy.

Op, out of sheer noseiness, what are you secretly hoping for? I am fascinated with twins and so desperately wanted two boys...
