I'm 7 weeks and as much as this is a very much planned and already loved little one I'm really really struggling with nausea. Constant. All day. I haven't vomited at all but the churning is making me miserable and it's been 2 weeks now :( Has anyone got any ideas how I can relieve this? All I do is eat to stave it off but I'm so bloated and have put on weight that it's making me feel worse:(. Any advise would be massively appreciated!!

I'm in my 7th week too op. It's shit I miss food. I'm living on peppermint tea and ginger biscuits and toast.
I feel for you.

The nausea is awful... salty foods did help a bit and so did sea bands. I was trying to keep a pregnancy diary and feel so guilty looking back as I just couldn't be positive often so barely wrote til after 16/18 weeks.

It's not admitting defeat it's asking for some relief. Flowers I hope you can get some.

I had hyper emesis in both my pregnancies and sea bands did help ( along with medication). Second pregnancy I was given prochloroperzine which really helped with nausea

So much sympathy! I'm 9 weeks and it's fading. I really really struggled in my first pregnancy but I have found some things that helped me control it (a bit) this time:

  • get up early: with dd1 I found I was always more sick on weekends and thought it was tiredness. I now think it's because I lay in. I have a toddler so lie ins dont happen! I find that I have to eat before 7.30 - I have a piece of toast with vegemite every morning sitting up in bed and feel immediately better. The other day DD lay on until 8.30 (amazing) and I woke up and vomitted straight away. Too much time between food.
Sugar: I don't fancy sweet things but DH suggested sugar might help so bought me some chuppah chup lollies. I never eat stuff like that as don't have a sweet tooth - found they really took the edge off nausea and gave me an instant pickup - do you get that sleepy drained feeling when you have a wave of nausea? I found sugar helps that. Bland food: on days I have managed to eat something with flavour the night before e.g. stir fry I have felt worse the next day. I realised that was why I was having a bad day following a good day. I am now living off bland carbs e.g. oven chips, pasta. It's not the best nutritionally but it's temporary so who cares. Vitamins: some pregnancy vitamins are hard on your stomach. Don't take them in the morning, take them during your 'best' time of day and change brands if you find they make you feel more ill. My Dr said plain folic acid is sufficient and easier for your body to break down if you can't manage them at all.

Good luck! I am turning a corner at week 9 and found that I did the same in my last pregnancy. Hope you feel better soon x

Would also say don't feel you are 'admitting defeat' - it is absolutely miserable. I have had days off work when nothing worked and colleagues have referred to my day off for 'morning sickness'. It is not 'morning sickness' it is constant nausea in a lot of cases and nobody can work through that.Flowers

Bites of protein every hour helped me. I kept ham and packs of bite sized chicken with me everywhere. Not eating too much or too little. Iced water to crunch bizarrely kept things at bay. Hugs hope it goes soon

Oh god did someone really say ginger ? Aaahhhh makes me want to bang my head ago at a wall

Op go to the doctor . I've had hyperemesis 3 times! It's fuking horrible and you need
Medication, not old wives tales.
They will most prob start you with cyclizene ( the drowsiness will wear off ) then there are loads of other strong and safe drugs to hold off the nausea they can try. Don't suffer , I did and had a fit because I lost too much weight. Don't listen to the " oh it's just a bit of morning sickness we all get it" NO we don't all get morning sickness like this . Good luck op hope you see the doctor xx
