Scans at Kings College Hospital

Hello everyone, I have my 12 week scan this coming Friday at the fetal centre at Kings. I had read a few other threads about some places not doing pictures of the scans/you had to pay. I wondered if anyone could let me know how they do it at Kings? I'm happy to pay of course, and I know the whole purpose of the scan isn't getting a picture, we haven't told anyone yet and (all being well) I want to put a scan pic in my mums Mother's Day card when I see her on Sunday. DP will take his camera if there's no print out available.
Thanks in advance!

So no printed scan but I didn't care after hearing my little baby's heartbeat and finding out it was healthy Grin thanks anyway for your responses and don't forget to take your camera/phone if you are going to Kings. And also yes the new facilities are totally amazing!!

Glad it went well. It's impressive isn't it?! How I imagine private hospitals are Grin

That's what I said to DP Hollyhop! It was all so new and fancy. No gender reveal today though, although we both feel that the baby looked like a boy ha!

Hey I have a scan at kings in a couple of weeks. I’m gutted about not having a print out. As you say it’s not the most important thing in the world but for our first scan I really wanted a print out.
Did you get a good clear picture on your phone and is there anyway you can get a print out by paying do you know? X

I had my scans at Kings and they were brilliant; at the end of the scan she put all of the best pictures back up on the screen one at a time for hubby to take pictures of, we could take as many as we liked and weren't rushed at all.

I’ve had loads of scans at Kings and they give you a range of images to photograph in plenty of time. Images are very clear too, much more so than when I had my ds in 2011.

Thank you for your replies. So you think it’s not so bad not getting a print out as the pictures you take come out well enough?

Consider yourself very, very lucky if you come under Kings for your antenatal scans. Their equipment is absolutely state-of-the-art and the detail is incredible. They told us DD’s sex (after checking that we wanted to know) by showing us her ovaries. I’ve since moved away and realise just how bog-standard the scanning equipment is pretty much everywhere else in the country. You will get a better quality pic by photographing the monitor than you would from a printout anywhere else.

Oh brilliant. That sounds promising. Thank you

Hi @Loulou221188 just reiterating what PPs have said. No print out but we were given loads of time to take photos which we then got printed in boots so we still had a hard copy to show people. The equipment they use is so high end and the image was so clear, we got a 3D scan at our 20 week scan and the antenatal unit is amazing, it feels like a private hospital.

Hello, just jumping on here - wondering if anyone has been here within the last 6 months - a year and what it was like with scans photos etc?
Just wondering if I need to bring some change with me?
Thank you
