So im 12 weeks today. I am now at the awkward stage of not wanting to wear jeans but not wanting to invest in mat jeans (scan monday) so im hanging on in leggings. I dont usually wear leggings in public as i hate my legs. And i mean HATE. So do they look dreadful? Im not after compliments, just honesty. In reality i want to know whether people at work will look at me funny (i usually stick to wide leg trousers there) thanks....

Btw i know theres a fashion thread but i never get much of a response so im being cheeky (sorry)

Yes jeggings would work better. Sainsbury's ones are great, only £12.50 and have a nice high thick waistband which is good at holding in tum but also comfy. (Wearing them right now with a t-shirt which looks fine so would work with your top in photo).

Okay. I clearly have no fashion sense...Blush

You don't have fat legs.
But, I think the leggings are making them look fat, because you're top is too short.
You asked for honest opinions.

What about tights and dresses? I lived in leggings/long tops and boots from 5 weeks pregnant (twin pregnancy, oh the bloat!!!!) until the end, I only bought maternity jeans at about 28 weeks when I was wearing out all my leggings.

TBH I much prefer jeggings to jeans and leggings/long tops are my favourite. I find jeans so incredibly uncomfortable.

Good luck with your scan!

Jellybabie3 · 11/03/2017 12:11

Thanks will invest in some long tops as soon as i know scan is ok. I appreciate the honesty.

Your legs are fine. The top is too short. In my opinion leggings don't count as trousers, even if many people wear them as such. Long tops, tunics, dresses. If you have long vests(that cover bum and front)you could wear underneath that would work too.

Jeggings, again depending on the fabric may need a long top. Leggings are truly awful in place of jeans and the wearer cannot see what their back side looks like from behind! 😂 99% of the time the fabric is steched to within an inch of its life and its become as transparent as 10 diner tights!!!

I second sainbury's jeggings. I got a couple of pairs a size up from my normal size and they fitted me until a few weeks back (now 26weeks). Should be useful post pregnancy too. They are very comfy and feel more like proper clothes than leggings.

Marmalade85 · 11/03/2017 12:55

Agree with PP that leggings are not the same as trousers. Nobody looks good in leggings. Good luck with the scan

Jellybabie3 · 11/03/2017 13:31

Ok. I do have jeggings but i find them much thicker and warmer. Im due in sept. I will need an alternative to jeggings through the summer. I spend alot of time outside (gardener) and wont bare my legs for love nor money.

Can't you wear tracksuit bottoms or similar?

April241 · 11/03/2017 14:35

Maxi dresses for summer when you're not gardening? I was due in September too so I was rather large during summer and if it was hot I'd wear a maxi dress rather than my trusty leggings and top.
