Help! DP has started calling our baby 'shrimpy' and I hate it. I need a new name asap before it sticks!! Bean is out (still call DS2 bean as a nickname today) as is peanut (DS1 calls his private parts his peanuts)!!

Please help me come up with a better name! TIA

Mine is Brussels. As one of the information booklets said it was the size of a Brussel sprout at so many weeks and it just stuck Smile

Button or Bump.

Oysterbabe · 05/03/2017 11:05

Ours was Barbie as we conceived in Barbados.

pickle162 · 05/03/2017 11:58

Mine will be sprout

CocoLoco87 · 05/03/2017 13:09

DS1 was Barry (not his name IRL!!) DS2 was his actual name. We really felt we were going to have another boy and had his name picked out already for 2 years. I really don't know what we'd have called a girl!

chocoraisin · 05/03/2017 13:49

I love Button, but so far Pippi and Smudge are the contenders since I said no to shrimpy. I'm leaning towards Pippi (I am holding out for a girl this time)

Ds1 was Kermit or Pickle. Dc2 so far is just Baby

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 05/03/2017 14:06

This one is Strawberry. Dc4 was Blueberry, dc3 Pimple, dc2 Bean the 2nd, dc1 Bean.

haveacupoftea · 05/03/2017 14:38

We just call him the baby Confused

notanothernamechangebabes · 05/03/2017 14:45

The bump didn't have a name.... the embryo/fetus/ baby did though!

Baby at first... then "little pickle".... then half jokingly Bertie ( we thought maybe we'd call him Bertie when he was born)

Bertie stuck- and now he's Albert on his birth cert. and Bertie for everyday.

Some people thought it was odd that the baby was being called by his name from 20 weeks of pregnancy, but we q liked that he'd had his name from early on: made his arrival feel like we already knew him and he was just coming home to us. Smile

Heatherbell1978 · 05/03/2017 14:47

We came up with a cute wee name for DS1 (which we knew was a boy) which was a play on DHs name. DD1 (born this week) was just 'baby'

itbeeps · 05/03/2017 15:56

Squidge for current bump. 1st one was junior

MrsNuckyThompson · 05/03/2017 16:11

This one has been called Plum. No idea why but maybe named when the baby centre app said the baby was the size of a plum?

EssentialHummus · 05/03/2017 16:18

Ours adapts based on what fruit the Pregnancy+ compares it to. We'll also both say things like, "When the creature arrives we'll need to..." which sounds very cold/odd but is meant affectionately.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/03/2017 16:34

Bubs

thethoughtfox · 05/03/2017 16:57

Mine was Tummy Bunny because the way she kicked me reminded of a bunny rabbit thumping away!

babymavis · 05/03/2017 18:36

Mavis..... I don't know why just makes me chuckle! Ha ha Xxx

mummy2pickle · 05/03/2017 20:40

My 2 yr old DD has told me she's want a boy and to call it Nigel! So our bump is called Nigel!! Don't think it'll stick though if we do have a boy Hmm

DinosaurFanGirl · 05/03/2017 20:48

Started calling our baby "Speckle" and soon changed to "Baba" after kicks could be felt and my bump become rather big!

DirtyDancing · 05/03/2017 21:28

First was Pip, second is Pop!

AmyB1986 · 05/03/2017 23:09

Dd1 was squidgy, dd2 was bob and that has stuck to this day. Everyone still calls her bob poor girl. Yet to gain a bump with this one but dh has named the tiny raspberry chicklet! Guess that will stick now too!

chocoraisin · 06/03/2017 08:42

Pippy has been agreed :) love hearing all your names. So lovely! Thanks for sharing

When I was pregnant, bump was called Gaston! We had a name for DS but didn't want to tell anyone until he was born. We are massive Disney fans and it was said by a relative as a joke "is his name Gaston?!" It stuck and is still called baby G by some family members!

JessieMillz25 · 06/03/2017 17:11

We call ours Miller Lite because that's close to our surname and she's a smaller version of us.

cockermum85 · 06/03/2017 18:09

My hubby called ours Baby Zlat because we found out that I was pregnant on the day that Zlatan Ibrahimovic signed for Man Utd (hubby fav team)

I was pretty gutted , but it stuck... and now my gorgeous girly is here I couldn't care less about his bump and.
