Steroid injections

Hello girls, having my first baby and the hospital dont do a very good job on explaining things to me😑 I'm 32+4 weeks recently been told my baby isn't growing as she should just below the bottom line on my last growth scan they've give me steroid injections ( which were HORRIBLE may I add) and I'm not entirely sure on what this means they said its for baby's lung development but does this mean I'll be induced sooner or are they letting me go full term should I worry or not? Some advice would be highly appreciated thank you ladies 😙 x

I expect they'll monitor the baby closely now with the aim of keeping the baby well until 37 weeks or more. But if they feel there is any risk, they'll have the baby out immediately and the steroids will help mature the lungs in case that happens in the next couple of weeks.
It's a precaution.

A very painful precaution😂 so I shouldnt worry about having my baby early until I know more about her progress? Because all the hospital said to me was that my baby's not growing so they're giving me these injections i asked questions but they still didn't explain it all so just stuck here confused on whats happening thank you BTW :)

Ok. Your placenta might not be working properly hence the baby isn't able to grow properly. It's not uncommon. The good news is that they can do scans to see. There's a Doppler scan which shows the blood flow through the placenta that they may have done? When's your next scan?
If you have any changes in movement or feel unwell you need to go in for checking. My guess is that it will be sooner than 37 weeks though. Try not to worry though as now they know they'll be careful.
Your baby is likely to be small but ok. My 34 week baby was ok and you'd never know.
I would try and speak to your midwife tomorrow so you know what they're planning to do.

I'd be furious if the hospital refused to tell me the plan of action. And incredibly worried. You poor thing.
Do you know if you are having a consultant appointment any time soon? They may be waiting to explain it all then.
I would think that the steroids are a precaution and baby will be closely monitored. If at any time they suspect baby isn't receiving the nutrition they need you will be induced early. The aim will be to keep them safe inside for as long as possible though.

I had my Doppler scan 2 days ago they said everything is fine have my next growth scan on the 9th with a consultant appointment after but it was my consultant that left me in a room crying after telling me my babys too small got me all worried and sent me home without explaining anything so i dont expect much from her but yeah will speak to my midwife seems to be my best option now thank you :)

Some doctors do need lessons on how to talk to people, don't they? I assume she rattled of some routine (to her) stuff that left you with lots of questions, completely forgetting it's all new to you.
I'd stay away from Google though.

Some have really poor people skills would be my luck to get the ones that do🙄 and yeah she spoke about so many things that just seemed a different language to me so I had no idea what was going on and when I asked to explain so I could understand I just got more gibberish😒 and yeah I've learnt my lesson google just tells you the worst case 😂

If they say IUGR that stands for intra uterine growth restriction. Which is basically what we've told you :)
