Question about maternity leave activities before baby arrives.

I'm due to start maternity leave in two weeks when I'll be 36 weeks gone. Exciting times! Grin

I've been planning out things to do whilst I wait for baby to arrive and had going to the cinema on the list. Now I'm wondering if that's such a good idea, considering things like my waters could go whilst I'm sat there and ruin the seat. Is that a reasonable concern or am I overthinking things?

Also, does anyone have any suggestions for things to do to stop me from going crazy whilst I wait? I'm the sort of person who can't sit still and always has stuff planned to keep me busy, so this is uncharted territory for me. Lie-ins and daily walks down the park are on the agenda so far.

Thanks Smile

Agree with sleeping as much as possible.
I was really looking forward to that pre-baby maternity leave then the little sod arrived early. I had to email my boss from the delivery suite to say I couldn't come in Sad

My waters didn't go until I was pushing him out. Most people's don't break like they do on TV.

I had 5 weeks off before DS arrived (mat leave at 37/40, he arrived at 42/40) but I can't honestly tell you what I did for a lot of that time! Went on walks and drank coffee/ate ice creams (it was late August and very hot!) built an IKEA changing station, bounced on my ball and got increasingly grumpy at his failure to appear.

Oh, I did 4 years worth of tax returns, that was fun!

I'll be packing the dog off to the groomers towards the end of my mat leave for a nail trim and a good coat strip - fewer hairs to gather round the baby!
