Midwife appointment at 28 weeks- baby measured small?

Hi everyone,

My head is in a lot of places right now, so I apologise for this not being the most eloquent post.

I had a midwife appointment yesterday (I'm 28 weeks today) and she said I have to have a scan this week because the baby is measuring up to be small. She said it's currently 26cm (which made me panic because I've been googling how big it should be right now and apparently it's like 38cm?!?!). My bump is small, my mum has been looking concerned recently because it's actually quite a lot smaller than I imagined it should be.

Is it something I've done? I've had nausea the whole time, feel really sick today, but I make myself eat when I can, which always results in me feeling sick, but I do it anyway because I know I need to feed the baby. I eat quite a lot of fruit and veg, meat has been repulsive to me since I became pregnant, but I've forced myself to eat it for the protein.

Any comments appreciated, I haven't heard when my scan is yet but she said yesterday it would be within three days, which seems quite urgent to me Sad the heartbeat is strong, and in the scans everything has been fine, but 26cm seems really small??

Sorry for this ramble, I'm just quite worried Sad

Just I was going to say the same as Bright come join us, we have very helpful experienced mums that are more than willing to help us first timers.

We've been having a similar discussion about different measurements based on our heights Smile

All 3 of mine consistently measured small and my bump was quite small too (I'm average size). All three born 39 weeks 7lbs or so. Midwives tape measure is pretty inaccurate and even the growth scans are not that accurate late on in pregnancy.

Please try not to worry it's nothing to do with how much you eat and I think it's very insensitive (and wrong) of your dp to suggest it's your fault!!

I had hg all through your pregnancy and lost a stone and half at 20 weeks. Baby was measuring fine. I got to 32 weeks and all of a sudden I was measuring 2 weeks behind. I was sent for and baby was fine and growing (was actually measuring ahead). My belly just hadn't grown.

Baby was born 3 weeks early weighing nearly 7lb. Please try not to worry. Great to have a scan and get to see the baby again!
