fed up of people telling me i am having a boy because 'it's all out front'. EVERYONE who has commented has said a boy. not a single 'girl' in there. i was more 'all over' with dd.

is there really truth in this? how CAN it be medically possible??!

I was 'all up front' with DD and was convinced she was a boy because everyone else was so sure.

I'm only early stages (22 weeks), but look pretty similar but know its a boy this time.

So I don't believe you can tell sex by shape.

i dont believe it either. where does that wives' tale come from i wonder. although - even i feel 'boy'. but then again did with dd!

All up front both times. First time was a boy this time 23 w and don't know yet.

The pregnancy's are compeltely different otherwise so hoping for a girl but won't paint the room just yet (no plans to anyway but IYKWIM!

I don't believe any of the old wives tales but there's a really interesting survey on babycentre. If it's a girl woman are 50:50 at guessing it right. It it is a boy woman were about 75% correct - somthing in the male genes that make us more confident.

I don't think you can tell but my two were deffo different shapes. Dd all over and ds out front.

Egypt · 28/02/2007 13:43

i think i convinced myself it was a boy last time because deep down i wanted it to be a girl and was trying to set myself up not to be disappointed. maybe i am doing the same this time.

DS1 - pregnant all over,
DS2 - all out front

paddyclamp · 01/03/2007 21:10

Bump same shape with DS and DD. I don't think the shape has anything to do with what you're having.

But i felt much sicker with DD than i did with DS. How are you feeling and how does it compare with first time?

Egypt · 01/03/2007 23:45

wasn't so sick with dd. felt pretty awful gor first 3 months with this one. had awful headaches with dd from 12-17 wks. none with this one.

I carried all "up front" with both of my dc, i had a dd and a ds!

bubblicious · 02/03/2007 00:02

I carried differently with all 3 of my dear children

AND

had

3 girls

cupcakesgalore · 02/03/2007 09:50

I'm not convinced either by this shape thing. Surely the amount of prev. pregnancies you've had must count because of muscles stretching etc - in my case no muscles! I think I've looked pretty sim. in all my pgs. i gen. have q. a big bump but the 1st was biggest - prob. because i put on the most weight and he was the biggest baby.

Aloveheart · 02/03/2007 09:51

with dd i was all around bump with ds it was more out front.

lazyemma · 02/03/2007 10:25

there is absolutely no truth in it, just like with all the other old wives tales. The reason they're all so prevalent is that any old "rule" you could make up off the top of your head to predict the sex of a baby has a 50% chance of appearing to be correct. So all sorts of obvious bollocks gets parroted by otherwise intelligent people who frankly should know better.

nally · 02/03/2007 10:28

All my bumps were the same. Only difference was with dd2 that I didn't put on any extra weight (probably from running around after the other kids) and so the rest of me didn't expaaaaannd so much. Looked pretty much 'normal' after she was born.
